Haha ..not far off the mark (note procrastination element in para 2): :-)
You scored mainly in the Water-Earth quadrant. This 'green' quadrant highlights the 'down-to-earth' aspect of your personality and your enjoyment of everyday life. You like to 'go with the flow', enjoying all sorts of practical experiences. Your life is like a river which flows across the ground, meandering towards the sea. When obstacles arise you will adapt and flow around them, without too much worry or concern. An 'earth' person will very much live life in the present, rather than worrying too much about the future.
People who map into this quadrant will often seek a variety of everyday experiences and base their decisions on what they have personally experienced, rather than what someone has told them or what they have read about. Therefore, sometimes you may delay making a decision because you have no 'real world' data to tell you what to do. You like to be totally happy with any decision before taking action.
You are likely to be good observer and take in a lot of visual data. Details are important to you and you will often take time to find out how something works. You usually like the 'best' in everything you do and therefore your standards and expectation of others may be too high. Remember that no-one is perfect!
Quality in everything you do is important to you. However, realize that you may sometimes have to compromise to meet the needs of others.
Olivia, you're right about honey. It has very good health benefits, and Lara should leave it in the tea (as a treat!). It's only 22 calories per teaspoon. I'm currently using it as a substitute for butter/marg...so I have two pieces of brown bread with honey.
Apparently honey has all sorts of health benefits...although I'm only really aware of it being good as a soothing treatment for colds/flus, and helping to reduce hayfever (apparently in the latter case the honey must be locally sourced...something to do desensitising one's self to local pollen).
I nearly fell of the diet wagon when I saw that Cadbury has re-released the Whispa bar...oh the temptation.
I didn't have much choice due to the nature of my research, but I approached 3 supervisors and applied to two universities evenutally (discounting LSE after the meeting with the potential supervisor...which was a shame).
If you can, apply for as many as possible as this will increase the opportunities of funding.
Hi, Pete.
It doesn't seem to be a refresh problem as I can log in and out over a few days, and not realise I have new messages until on the off chance I check my inbox.
Just now I have sent myself 2 test messages and they showed up as being inbox i.e. Inbox(2). However, I didn't open them. I then logged out, and logged back in and my inbox was showing (0) despite the two unopened messages.
When I click on the Inbox(0) and go to my messages it then changes back to Inbox(2).

Okay, Pete...now you just sent me a message it did come up showing 1 message inbox! This is the first time this has happened.
I've had about 15 mesages and none have done this before (even when unopened). When I mark them as 'unread', they also show up as messages inbox.
I can confirm my inbox has never said anything but '0'. I'm using IE on Vista..if that helps.
Dear lovely admins,
When I receive a PM my inbox doesn't indicate that I have a new message - it's always '0'.
I'm not sure if you are already aware of this little glitch.
If so, please delete this moan thread.
Thank you!
Well I've never head of this odd number of chapters theory, and after doing a little Googling it appears it's only recommended on the UCL Computer Science site. Maybe someone should contact UCL to see what the theory behind this odd number requirement is.
I have 8 chapters...it may go to 9 chapters. My thesis is 95-100k. I wouldn't like to go over the 10 chapter mark, but as for the odd number requirement...it sounds a load of...
I should add...it's not uncommon to hear nothing from your university and then suddenly the pressure is put on to finish.
Are you in the UK? I don't think government funding is decided on a yearly basis. For this academic year, universities will have their budgets. The massive budgets will be decided after/upon the publication of the RAE results in december which won't be influenced by PhD completion now.
Maybe they just want to increase their completion rate....apparently more uni's are publishing completion rates.
Ooo I got away lightly at the dentist today- no treatment required apart from an appointment for scaling/polishing etc.
I do have one tooth that now requires a replacement porcelain crown & root canal (never had that before!! yikes), but I can leave it be for now. It will cost hundreds even with my dental insurance. :-(
As I left the dentist, the receptionist presented me with a piece of paper with scores for the condition of my teeth. My teeth had been graded! I got 97 out of 100. It's a shame I never got that type of mark in my degrees!
This happened to me! I was given the internal application form to state what I'd teach etc. The teaching never materialised. I was even more annoyed to find that someone with a very poor gasp of the english language did get a teaching spot.
Juno, are you paying £48 for a check-up on the NHS? That seems really steep for supposedly subsidised dental treatment. I go to a private dentist who charges around the same. Sylvester's £12 seems too cheap.
The government really need to force dentists to be more transparent with their costs.
I've now signed onto Denplan. Although my dentist may well kick me off the Denplan scheme this afternoon when she sees how long it's been since I last attended :-(.
