Congratulations, I remember that feeling well! I felt exactly the same, couldn't quite believe my luck. I'm also a fully funded 'old bird' (only 2 kids though). :-) I've completed my first year and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far! Good luck with it all!

I'm just about to go into my first year upgrade meeting / 'mini viva'. I got really stressed about it a few weeks ago but was fairly relaxed - until a few minutes ago... Eeek.

It's a number of text boxes and two images. I have changed it all back to Calibri now, looks much better in my opinion. :-)

I agree. I had it in Calibri originally, might change it back! :-)

Just a quick question about fonts for a conference poster... One of my supervisors has suggested Comic Sans, but I'm not so sure, I worry it looks a bit too 'wishy-washy'. Any thoughs or suggestions?

I think I'd better join in with this thread again! I've been in a major panic about my upgrade meeting (early September), writing frantically. I've reached the 'beyond panic' stage now. We're going away for two weeks on Saturday (though I'll be taking my laptop with me...), which means there are lots of other things to do as well. Argh!

Next goal for today: revise section 2.3.1 I found researching and writing this section fascinating, but have gone over it so many times now that I really don't want to look at it again! (sprout)

Anyway, onwards and ... ummm ... sort of upwards.

Ok, there is any easy solution to some of these problems! Let Sneaks's pigeons eat Baltar's flies, then let the food-demanding cat catch the pigeon and set Peljam's dog on to the cat. Then let the dog chase the supervisors (not mine - they've been lovely today) and bite their bums. That should tire the dog out and, hey presto, no more barking.
