I've made the changes to the abstract & summary and found some more references. Going to check it over again tomorrow morning and then email it to supervisors.

I'm not watching it but I can hear it (daughter is watching it) ... I just said to my husband that there is an awful lot of wailing. His response was 'Of course there is, it's Eurovision.'

I'll be working all weekend...

Second goal: find more references for poster.
Third goal: email amended poster abstract to supervisors.

Why do I always leave everything to the last minute ...

2nd section of chapter 1 done - not perfect and still a bit too long, but it'll do for now. I'll start working on the third section, but I doubt I'll be able to finish it today. Still, I'm quite pleased with my progress over the last few days! :-) I'm desperately waiting for my supervisors' feedback on the conference poster - I need it today as the deadline is on Monday. Feeling rather apprehensive about this as it is my first poster for a conference. :S

I HAVE to upgrade within 12 months of starting. With summer in the way (everybody seems to be away!) there isn't much time left.

I'm working towards my transfer report too, Sarah - suddenly there doesn't seem to be much time left!

My first goal for today: second section of chapter 1. I need to combine two separate sections for this, and lose about 1000 words... I'm trying to get one tomato in before getting the kids ready for school and, as both kids are at school until after 3pm today, I should have plenty of time to work on this today!

I have finished the first section of Chapter 1 - and amazingly managed to reduce more than 1500 words to 1000. :-)

Going home now!

Chapter outline done (it will no doubt change later). Next: section 2a of chapter (leaving the intro until the end)

I have just finished going through my supervisors' comments on something I've written. Now on to the real hard slog ... the first 'proper' draft for chapter 1! It's in three separate sections at the moment, which need putting together somehow.

So... first goal: outline for chapter 1.

Next goal: lunch! Then start redrafting chapter 1.

I've just had a supervision meeting, which went very well but made me realise just how much work I have to get done in the next few months!

Politics sounds perfect. Didn't Mrs T do a degree in chemistry? And she became prime minister. So with a masters in chemistry you might be able to aim even higher.
