sounds like you need to have a serious talk with him. does he understand how important your work is to you? and the need to have time set aside for your work, that he cant expect you to drop everything for him, say you kept turning up at his work, would that be acceptable..!?

today my sup has said 'sort it out for yourself i dont have time' so im getting a rep from the SU to sit in on the meeting... fingers crossed.

i would keep an eye out on sites like new scientist etc from when you return, a few places i contacted early or knew about were willing to speak before xmas especially if they state on the webpages etc feel free to contact reguaring projects, as if you get in early it can be useful. most advertised places begin in march, though beware often they are already filled (and advetised because they have to) so start looking early!

ive been trying to think of a way to prove my point, going to speak with my other panel member who is friendly and ask her to maybe attend this 'meeting' as an impartial person.

my supervisor (who i have a poor relationship with - to quote him im a 'stupid and ditzy'.) the manager of the room, and if i choose human resources. I think i will just cry faced by them and know my sup wont support me at all.

well today i found out there arranging a meeting to have me banned from the room despite me having tried to stand up for myself. so now im crying at my desk looking like a complete idiot and wondering if maybe i should just leave, if this is how the place works, what hope have i got of finishing my project.

they asked in depth about my dissertation, quizzed me on what i had written in the application (to make sure i was not making it up i guess!!) and also about the project in quite a bit of detail good job i had done some backgroud reading. then just the usual what motivates you to do this etc etc.

thanks for the advice. i think some kind of book would be useful as i often leave earlier than her so at least if i sign off so to speak i cant be blamed!
i just cant understand people like this!

i went for an interview there and it was quite informal, i was a bit put off by the stipend as there was no way of affording to live in london on what they were offering. They were really friendly and asked lots of questions about my research experience etc. I dont know if i would have got it though as i accepted another place the day after interview.

ok i need some advice.
one of the rooms i work in to do experiments has a rota etc for cleaning monitoring etc, which i always adhere to, however there is a girl/woman who freqeuntly 'complains' about me having gone in after me and made a mess, split things, then said to the manager of the room it was me to the extent now where he is threatening to revoke my permit!! i dont know what to do my supervisor is useless and blames me even though one of the days she complained i was not even in, its made me to upset as she never confronts me, and the only reason i can see for her being like this is once i asked her if she could hold off using the centrifuge while i finished an experiment. any advice on how to deal with this? my project depends on me being able to use the facility.

i need to dilute a 1mM solution to 50 and 11000 pmol.. i cant work out a serial dilution can anyone help me?!

they will email you or phone i would imagine, but if funding is stated for eu/uk and your not then i doubt they would interview you.
