Woo hoo! We found pea! Now where is DJWickid?
P

I think we may have lost her to the facebook darkside.

Well, I just ate morning tea.

Cup of coffee...and I am ashamed to admit this...some of the high-energy bars that live at the back of our freezer that my boyfriend takes when he goes on 3-hour bike rides up mountains.

They are delicious - full of sugar, butter, peanuts, chocolate, peaunt butter, and sesame seeds. I should have saved time and stapled them straight onto my thighs, because they are going to make their way there anyway. I can feel my arteries hardening as I sit here.

This is not getting my final discussion written, is it?

I just can't believe I put an insomniac to sleep!

Good name idea, sylvester.

There is nothing offensive about that! Don't worry. Tee hee.

And are you English born and bred, insomniac?

I was driving it at the time - no choice but to get hailed on when you are on a narrow country road.

I am Australian born and bred, long in the legs and thick in the head. You have to go a few generations back to find a non-Aussie-born person in my family.

I just ran my fingers over it and it says "This will cost you $800 in insurance excess to fix".

My car got hailed on and now it has dents all over the roof and bonnet.

Where is pea?
P

She has not posted for about 10 days and that is unlike her. She mentioned she might be breaking up with her boyfriend and taking time off from her PhD, so hope she is okay. Thinking of you, pea.

If it means I get a body like hers, I am coming too!

You have the 6 month blues!

A friend of mine diagnosed mine for me, and I have since seen others with them. You get to about 6-9 months in, there is still ages to go until you finish so you can't comfort yourself with the thought of finishing, but you are still so new that you don't know what you are doing most days (you make mistakes, your subject still feels foreign, every time you turn around there is another paper you should be familiar with). But, to make matters worse, you are now so familiar to everyone around you (colleagues, supervisors) that they all assume you know what you are doing and forget about you.

Don't worry - you just have to soldier on and in a couple of months, it all falls into place. I had the 6 month blues for about 3 months, but then they just went away...until the 2 year panic starts, but they are completely different again. No need to stress and get depressed, what you have is perfectly normal...well, I had them too anyway.

As a postgraduate, you are perfectly within your rights to give the undergraduates a stern talking to about making too much noise.

A poem about the forum...
P

I don't like this thread - that poem was downright mean and nasty to pea and I don't find her boring at all.
