You guys are talking nonsense!

"Country bards I go singers , has he mortified he honor"...what the?

I iron most of my clothes, but not underwear or socks, and I always iron just before I need it - not one of those organised people who spend every Sunday ironing for the week for 3 hours. Just like to look neat. Hate creases.

I often iron after I get out of the shower so I can either have no clothes or just underwear on. There was nothing kinky or sexy or Melanie Griffith in 'Working Girl' about it.

On this occasion, I was ironing a work shirt for my boyfriend - he has a suit job, so every day have to iron business shirt and given I am currently "unemployed bum" of the house, I do it for him. You know, contribute.

Hiding from supervisor
P

katq - me too! I used to go upstairs and exit the building on the next level up to avoid walking past his office at 3pm.

I hide from people from uni when I see them on weekends at the supermarket, hardware store, DVD store...they seem to pop up everywhere. I don't need any of the them to see me in my crusty weekend clothes and unwashed hair while I'm buying toilet paper and condoms...or renting a sad, girly movie on a Saturday night.

I have discovered (by accident) a new way to overcome the dreaded bikini line problem - ironing one morning with no clothes on, little accidental slip with the iron, OUCH! Now have a 6cm burn in a sensitive area...but need for waxing in that section!

Too much information? Sorry boys!

Having a Baby
P

I have a friend who if 5 months pregnant at the moment (she is 27), and she is also putting the polishing touches on her thesis. She will no doubt submit before the baby is born, but certainly no time in there for getting a job at all. She wants to stay at home with the baby for a few years and have more of them before getting a job. I guess it just depends on the individual.

Personally, I want a job and some of that money stuff grown ups talk about all the time - that stuff sounds useful to have...plus I don't really like kids.

We choose to ignore that theory, so just keep it quiet if you don't mind.

I love the practical-thinking there, Ann. Garlic bread is essential.

Bugger, now I am starving.

Yes! Well done Ann...apart from the watching Home and Away bit. My mother-in-law makes the BEST lamingtons in the world - huge chunky ones, with thick chocolate and such fluffy sponge cake. Bliss. A meal in itself.

There is a Scottish lass in my lab and one day I had a lamington for morning tea - she looked at me like I was about to eat a cowpat and said "what is that????". Silence in the tea room. My supervisor just said "someone educate that girl". Hilarious. None of us new lamingtons were so Aussie.
