On my first day, wanting to appear enthusiastic, I arrived at 8.30am. At the door of the lab, I saw all the biological hazard, GMO and authorised entry only signs, so I sat in the stairs outside until someone came to escort me in. Slackers didn't show up until almost 9.30am and when they did, they asked what the heck was I doing in the stairwell, and I why hadn't I gone in and made myself a coffee? Turns out nobody pays any attention to the warning signs...except gullible little me!!

H - my brother, sister and I used to play a similar game, but ours was what would you rather eat/drink? Again, the choices were always disgusting...sheep poo or cow poo, raw onion or raw garlic, off milk or mouldy cheese...the list is endless!

DJW - I would rather be plum pudding because then I would be plump, yet firm, rich, yet full of fruity goodness, and a special treat to be cherished once a year at Christmas.

I am having trouble writing a chapter about a some enzymes I have identified in particular bacteria and how homologous they are to the same enzymes in other organisms...please could you help me with that too?

Feel really dumb asking this, but: Please can any molecular people recommend programs or online tools for making multiple sequence alignments look pretty? I have a number of alignments (DNA and protein, some compare 2 sequences, some several) and I would like to add colours/shading to highlight similarities and differences. I can find a number or programs that will make each amino acid or nucleotide a particular colour, but that isn't what I'm after. Ideally, I would like a program that colours all the homologous regions green, all the rest red. Please can anyone help? It is purely an aesthetic thing for my thesis. Thank you.
