Congratulations Armendaf, you DID IT!!!! Though I thought you would anyway 8-) I hope you're going to spend a while having a good rest now, you must be exhausted. Are you going to have some time off, or at least lots of nice things planned that are nothing to do with PhDs?

What a feat of human endurance it seems to have turned into!! No wonder research fellows and suchlike eye up people for new projects that have completed PhDs, they know they've got stamina, plus a sprinkling of academic ability, of course 8-)

Anyway, well done again!! (up)

Well done, that's great! Another one bites the dust, in the nicest possible way of course... ooh, I wish it was me. Maybe it's a good thing to have the mock viva soonish, at least there will be lots of time to prepare for the real thing.

Come to think of it, my first proper boyfriend dropped out of school at 14, came from a very poor family with no experience of HE, lived on a 'problematic' estate and was on the dole for years. Not sure how he got to that point, but he ended up in academia and finished his PhD years ago, well before me. Funnily enough, his subject area is one he was obsessed with as a hobby when I knew him all those years ago, so it's quite nice how things work out in the end.

Yep I did the same as you. I also find editing my posts in IE6 makes the spacing weird and stretchy, it adds lots of extra carriage returns or whatever the term is, but it doesn't do it in firefox.
