[edit] ooh I 've just seen your update, excellent work, one more chapter and the final bits and then printing woohoo!!! You've nearly done it!!

I had a better night's sleep, have accidentally spilt very hot black coffee on myself while sitting in bed and trying to wake up and am now about to get stuck into this dreaded never-ending chapter 4. It will be done by lunchtime today :-s

Pari it's weird when that happens, when it's the word games they end up in the wrong order and it doesn't make sense.

Glad your day in the lab went well, sounds like you impressed them! Maybe chemicals can be more exciting another day??!

How much teaching do people do?

GTAs don't exist as such by that name in my college, so I'm employed as a regular academic, though the hours vary per term.

I was wondering if GTAs generally get paid at a lower rate than the usual more experienced lecturers and end up being used as cheap labour, or are they treated the same?
