Hi all! Been away for a while... Owow, I am loving doing a PhD. I really enjoy my time here. I have a question though: Where do you find money for paying participants? My university offers each PhD student 250 quid for all 3 years which is really NOTHING compared to what we need to conduct the research. Almost finished my first experiment and have spent 90!

Congratulations!!! Just to have an idea, how much did you do in your first year compared to the second and/or 3rd one? Is it normal to work less during the first year and speed up later? It just seems so long to prepare an experiment that I do not have time for writing up at all. Well I would have if I could work 10 h per day!

We oth got out of our cars to see what happened (many other people did the same) and we started chatting about the accident and how dangerous that part of the road was etc... I am doing a PhD in social sciences. How many experiment am I expected to conduct in order to finish the PhD? My supervisor told me 1 per term, but this makes 9!!! Isnt that too much?? What is YOUR experience? Dr DJWickid? :-)
