I would suggest reading the rest of the forum, that basically waht this is, a place where people write thier highs and lows and experonces!

As far as I can see only the megabus goes from Southampron and it only goes as far north as manchester ot Leeds

That's what i said!! (hehe)

The trainline is the best site but the tickets are cheapest if you book exactly 12 weeks before the date you want to travel, for instance i am travelling form plymouth-Sheffield on August 27th I booked the ticket on 4th June and it was £26. It's also cheaper to buy two singles as a posed to a return!
Hope that's of help. I'd look into if you're eligible for a rail card too, it's worth it if you travel a fair bit on trains!

Recently BT have broken (yesterday and today) which caused problems, one of the ways we solved this was to close the site down temporarily so that address should work now. If not it won't be long till it's all back to normal (well as long as it takes BT) sorry for the inconvenience guys!

This had been posted before and the main thing seemed to be that it's possible if you are good at managing your time and sticking to deadlines. Good support is also key, you need someone who understands both situations (pregnancy and PhD) Also talking together a lot about how your both feeling before and during is good and avoids tension when you really don't need it.
Anything is possible you just have to adapt and change to fit it in.
My Partner is Starting a PhD in August and we have talked about having children too, and also decided in the 3rd year,
a) so he doesn't get stressed thinking he is not supporting me and getting stressed he isn't finishing the work.
b) So the baby is born before we start moving around doing PostDocs.
