You can also look up sample letters of recommendation; and write one in Italian or English about yourself (put yourself in your profs' shoes!) and then give it to them to have a look; if they may change or add anything; and then they sign it--and there you have your letters!!! just make sure you don't write the same thing for your two referees.

Some professors don't have time to sit and write letters; or simply may not even know you enough to write something solid (!!) and they do appreciate it if we come up with some kind of draft letter of recommendation.

If your letters will be in italian, make sure you have a verified translated copy in English!

thanks for your post; so its another offer letter from Oxford but different commencement date.
I think I would tell my professor the truth; at this moment I scored band 6 (without practice) and I may need an offer letter to apply for funding. Dont feel bad about getting less than 7.5 the first time :-)

I also had some hiccups in the past (but different kind), I always told my supervisor everything, and we managed to work around these issues.

congratulations on your oxford university phd offer!
From what I've read, you scored band 6 for IELTS and you already have one offer letter from Oxford, but no funding; and you need another phd offer to apply for more funding? Is this correct?

Since you already have an IELTS score, I think its ok to inform your professor. You should also discuss funding with him/her as well, to explore all the available options.

About asking for another offer letter, I'm not so sure what you mean.

hi there! I think its ok to wear your short above the knee length skirt :-)
I went to a summer conference prepared with formal wear etc. but I saw everyone else wearing slippers, shorts (!), t-shirt etc. so I left my black heels and wore my sandals instead :-) :-)

I think you also have to see where your conference is--and what kind it is :-)

A few years back I wanted to wear a nice dress for a "formal" conference dinner, but it turned out to be very casual, people even came in jeans and trainers! HAHAHAHA

I think you will feel much much better once you have reached a decision about what you want to do with your life, what you want to be and where you are going.

It seems to me that you have a very bright future as well. If you worry about how soon you will start regretting your decision that indicates that you haven't really made up your mind what you want to do.

Take some time to think about this and to reflect over things. Don't be in a hurry.

this always happens to me--whenever i am miserable/stressed, SOMEONE will call me on my phone/mobile/university line!!!

ANother thing that always cheers me up is spending time with my pet. After a hard day, put my rabbit on my lap or carry it.
