the thing I find most difficult when listening to music (with ear-phones) is that I dont like having things plugged in my ears or something hanging over the top of my head (headphones). I guess this is silly of me.
I like to have music played in the background (at home, for instance) because then my ears are free, nothings sticking in them.
I haven't tried earplugs though, I have a new set at home, given to me by my trombone player friend. They wear them for certain pieces when the drums and timpani are very loud. I guess I just have to get used to wearing them when Paul is making noise with food.
In my old lab, we had a colleague who would sigh and breathe very very loudly; I dont know if this is because he was very heavy or he had a big stomach or this was his way of breathing. I did find this irritating as well. Because it happened several times a day (yes yes he has to breathe). But I realise that he HAD to breathe anyway, and HAD no control over this. But Paul could eat something else, he has control over what he brings to grind everyday HAHAHA
so the grinding noise is more irritating than the sighing and breathing...
Smell now is not so bad; thankfully nobody brings in strong-smellin foods; but teeth-plastic-chip-apple- noise.........aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
i had this experience ordering primers; after I had them ordered, I was told that they had already been ordered (!) but like you said, it took ages to arrive. by the time everything arrived, there were two sets of primers. As you know these do not come cheap.
I did not need the 2nd set after all; and that was an unnecessary expense.
But dont lose sleep over it; its normal to feel bad but dont be so hard on yourself.
What you can do is keep your product first; if you know other people who need it, let them use it so that it is not wasted.
Dont feel guilty. I give you an example. My supervisor had me spending so much time writing up something; and one day overnight he completely CHANGED THE WHOLE THING to make it become something very simple (which was what I wanted to do in the first place)-- I dont think he felt guilty. Its just part of the phd process.

hi all I am in need of advice please.
I've been sharing the office with other people for about 5 months now. The new place is fine except I can hear my colleague eating everyday. I can hear every single apple-bite, chip-crunch, the sound of him scaping the plastic container (as he eats), the crunchy sound of the potato chip plastic, the sound of his teeth grinding the food, its driving me nuts.
I also eat my lunch in the office, I am aware that I may also make eating noises, but when I eat in the office, I do it rather quickly (because quite frankly I dont like eating in the office, lunch is always just sandwiches and maybe a banana, always light and quick.
Someone suggested to me that I should tell Paul that his eating noise is distracting me, but I feel that it is not polite. On the other hand its drives me crazy and I cant wait for him to stop eating or finish his food. Another thing to do is to go out of the office when he is eating but sometimes I am working halfway and I really need to peace to THINK when I work and then he comes in with a bag of chips and starts GRiNDING!!!
I havent learned how to switch off completely. HELP. I'm either very fussy or sensitive or Paul is simply a very noisy eater.
Should I tell him he is noisy or I keep quiet.

heres another one:
A group of 40 year-old buddies discussed where they should meet for
dinner.
Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View
restaurant because the waitresses there had great bodies.
10 years later at 50 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they should
meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food there was very good
and the wine selection was good as well.
10 years later at 60 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they should
meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they could eat there in peace
and quiet and the restaurant had a beautiful view of the ocean.
10 years later, at 70 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they
should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the restaurant was
wheel chair-accessible and they even had an elevator.
10 years later, at 80 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed that they
should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been
there before.
hi again sneaks
I am also afraid of getting pigmentation spots on my face; is this true that going on the pill means they will start appearing on our faces?
I guess I am still afraid of eating medicine. If I go on the pill, where do I go for it? Should I see my gp or I can get it from the pharmacist?
hi Sneaks
how long did the pill take to clear up your skin?
I'm not taking anything. I remember someone once told me that the pill makes us put on weight. Also I had seen one friend; this could be a coincidence, but she did look a lot rounder after she went on the pill.
I have also marks on my back; its also because I got chicken pox late (at 20) so theres a lot of scarring. The acne doesn't seem to go away too. Its not so bad on my face but on my back, yes. I have a few spots on my chest as well.

hi! can someone please confirm with me before I confuse myself more:
Say I have 2 groups, A and B.
INTRACLASS scores means the scores between members of one group (say group A).
INTERCLASS scores means looking at scores between members of group A and B.
is this correct
thanks satchi
:-) :-) :-) I like airbrushed photos HAHAHA they have a beautiful synthetic look AND un-brushed photos have the beautiful NATURAL look! :-) :-) :-) sometimes I read daily mail; its full of trashy stories, gossip, its very colourful with lots of pictures; its entertaining to look at it once in a while.
If i read daily mail, I dont really have to use my brain. Does this make sense...
if there's anything I could change about my looks---I wish it were my skin...I would love to have acne-free skin, especially on my back!
:-) :-) :-)
happy satchi
