hi GIRLS!!!
guess what
I have now got a headful of dark brown on my head!!! It's made my hair look shinier!
My friend fixed it for me, it was quicker than I thought. She brought her brush/comb and used it.
She bought me a Garnier colour (she's also using Garnier) so ok I went with it. Now my hair looks somewhat neater because the whites are gone. I'm happy with it. Now I only have to touch up the roots every few weeks or so.
I still intend to get some good hair products, as Natassia recommended kerastase.
OH yes. now its almost 3pm, I have only thought of my supervisor only ONCE today.
But I still have a crush on him.
everybody have a great weekend!!! x
eska are u there...
I just realized something else about my crush, I usually get it on thursdays and fridays; these are the days I see my supervisor, then saturdays and sundays I am OK because I have other distractions. Then monday is normal and from tuesday and wednesday it starts building up again!!!!!
I had my supper and now I'm feeling better. This crush feeling really does get me all worked up :-)
I've kept every single bit of notes that my supervisor's scribbled--why because he has written something there, even with very ugly handwriting. I dont know when I'll ever throw these away.
I find this question really funny! :-) No I dont think sitting down and studying all the time gives us a FAT ASS!
HAHAHAHHAHAHA
have you seen those Space-retro balls, what do they call them, those bouncing ones with handles, maybe you can get one and sit on that instead :-)
hi eska i am so glad you posted. THis is how silly I've been---before any meeting with my supervisor, I prepare by reading papers or finishing whatever I was supposed to do (but this is great since I have motivation to work) but I am doing this so that I may give an intelligent answer if he asks me something (is this making sense????) and whenever I see him, I also see pretty flowers, meadow (and nice cows) and nice things like nice music and rainbows. OK i have a good imagination but he gives me this kind of impression. I also like it that he is a workaholic because I am one too. I also make it a point to wear something nice when we have meetings because when we have meetings, I am always happy and when I feel happy I am in a mood to dress up.
REcently I've started noticing his hair as well, which I never bothered to look (in the past) and also I started to look at his hands and how he makes his facial expressions when he is looking at the computer screen.
I am absolutely NUTS.
I had other supervisors in the past, my first one was also very good and also workaholic but I didn't become crazy (like now).
With all my supervisors, my relationship is strictly professional and work-related, just my imagination and now I am crazy.
Do you think I will grow out of this????
I just realized that I have a crush on my supervisor!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its so silly of me.
I cant stop thinking of him. But its not a romantic crush, just I always always think of him.
The more he helps me find solutions (to my work), the more I think of him because things got better.
I even missed him over christmas!
This is really silly. How do I re-programme myself back to normal!!!!
hi Ev
I have this tip from my friend who had a big potbelly. His mum put him on a salad diet for days and he did lose weight.
Very uncomfortable but the weight did go down.
Don't starve yourself, perhaps also exercise or do some running, if you can find a friend to go with you, would be nice.
:-)
hi cobweb I also have veins, I dont know if they are spider or not; they appear behind my knees, probably varicose veins and they don't go away :-(
Years ago I wore a mini skirt and rode pillon (foolish) on my friend's motorcycle so the mini skirt was hiked up my thighs and very tight there, because of that I also have those little veins--its been more than 10 years and they are still there!
I think for the one on your face, it could be "fixed" by those skin specialists, I think they have laser treatment for that but I'm not sure.
I dont have any veins on my face but I do have periodical acne. I dont do anything about the veins on my legs, nothing I can do, I guess. But they dont stop me from wearing shorter skirts.
Another thing I would suggest is if you could lift your feet up or rest them higher when you are seated. This is what I try to do but sometimes not possible at my workstation.

hi Su
testing means of 3 groups I think you are talking about ANOVA (but I dont know your research design).
In the past I used online stats programs; like GraphPad and here you can find great links
http://statpages.org/
You can also download PAST here http://folk.uio.no/ohammer/past/download.html
Other programmes like SPSS, MatLab, SAS etc.
Check what your statistic software your university provides; again, ask your labmates (ask your Seniors) what they are using. Best person to go to is your supervisor, see what he is using and learn from there.
Before you run your tests you have to check your data (normality assumptions etc) so again its better quickly grab a book/grab somebody/teacher etc. and start learning soon.

hi Mind2motion,
we all have our own way of doing things :-)
For example, if you go to a kitchen, you could have highly disorganized (personally) chefs, nice chefs, grumpy chefs, quiet chefs, loud chefs, smoker chefs, non-smoker chefs, but they all produce very nice food :-)
Be nice to yourself :-) dont feel guilty for being disorganized, just improve wherever you can...
Sometimes you see other students doing well, but in truth we don't know what's going on in other people's minds--
--just like an old asian saying....there may be a crocodile in still waters....
well I dont know how to say it in ENGLISH HAHHAHHAA, something like that
I have also been watching Ratatouille HAHAHHA
Ok I'm off to cook now
have a nice evening

hi Keep Calm!
I think you will do well! Dont worry! Im sure you will be able to answer any questions thrown your way :-)
My presentations at conferences, so far have always been nice and easy and no complicated challenging questions! Call it luck maybe? I dont know :-)
but I went in for a competition (some time back) and was grilled by the judge. It was a molecular biology award competition and it was really horrible. Another horrible time I had was my masters viva. The examiner asked me something which I was totally unprepared for--and I stood there like a dummy couldnt say anything, nothing came out of my mouth, and my friends even asked me (later) what happened to you? Are you ok?
I think your supervisor has confidence in you and it is a good opportunity for you to make your presentation, and with these 50-60% established academics' presence to hear your work, its a great way to develop and learn. You will be ok.
