I just can't afford the gym. Its £30 a month here! And time too - I can't spend 2 hours 3-5 days a week at the gym :-( I am trying to do more home exercise though (up)

My bro lives in quebec, although can't work there so has to fly back and forwards. Problem is there is like 1 university in the whole of canada (I know slight exaggeration) but - would be tricky for me to get work there.

I voted lib dem! (up) I think that first past the post is retarded. I guess a lot of people got worried and voted tory, just to get labour out.

I really do hate conservatives with a passion. I literally cannot stand Cameron. I think the queen should let me govern, although The Sneaky Party didn't get any votes :-(

well i don't want to go into actual figures - that would be horrendous. But I lost 2 and a half stone last year (2nd year PhD) for wedding, and have gained most of that back since christmas :$ I NEED to shift it.

GRR stupid council! My hubby didn't live in our house for most of last year and I told council he had just moved back in a few weeks ago. But they've charged us council tax from june last year, because that's when we got married. Apparently if one of us lives somewhere its a 'matimonial home' and therefore we owe tax on it :-( That's rubbish! I mean we don't even have joint bank accounts, yet because I'm married to him I have to pay tax. GRRR.

(he lived with his mum so he could travel to work - not because of a huge argument or anything! ;-) )

I'm trying to work out walk routes for the summer that involve a pub lunch somewhere along the way, although my dogs a bit crazy and may well eat everyone's food :$

:-( I hate people who do that. I live next to an orchard and see people going out, with their dog on the lead for 2 mins until it goes to the loo. poor things!

I do 2 45 min walks a day (off lead) with my littlun. She is perfectly on weight (I wish someone gave me my food in a bowl and made me chase a frisby!) and she lets me know if I'm not out on time - she usually goes out at 7am and at 2pm and she will start pawing me at 1.55 if i don't look like I'm getting my shoes on :-s

I've tried rewards - but I have no self control, so just end up with the reward without doing the work.

I'm working slightly better today because of a change of scenery - I'm working on my laptop on the sofa. Maybe I just needed a change!

there are people at my uni who followed their supervisor. But they technically get their degree from the previous uni, but get to use our facilities.

Well I do lectures covering all the major career theories. Its loosely related to my research, which i do bring in, but not specifically.

I think you got it right - although I like to interpret it that although you can make your own luck, its also about just knowing what to do when those situations do just crop up out of the blue.

I do think its the best theory though, from personal experience.
