haha people ALWAYS ask why I'm doing my PhD, because as I say I'm not 'one of them' who I am researching. I always make up some rubbish about how i really identified with the issues, but realistically it was a chance to work from home for 3 years and end up with a qualification, could have been any topic and I would have done it!

that would be awful!

ooh me me! I have a BSc in psychology and an MSC in a psychology related discipline AND I have lots of non-academic qualifications and music exams under my belt. Can I be PM please?

oh, and thanks Satchi for the regression questions - it went reasonably smoothly and now my teaching is completely over for the year, unless they decide to invite me back when my funding runs out - which i doubt (even if they do its only about 50p worth of income, but can't be sniffed at!)

I've had the same thoughts about hamster wheels, and also perhaps linking some kind of electricity producing device to my dogs tail that wags constantly, but that currently has no use apart from communicating her feeling of "YAAAAAY!"

i cringe for you Eska! I would have died with embarrassment with the skirt thing!

My recent bloopers:
- giving away the ending of twilight to an entire group of female students - woops!
- Drawing my family tree on the board, yet representing myself as essentially inbred because I put my mum and dad from the same family - I HATE writing on the board it confuses me!
- today I've been walking around with my joggers on back to front which was quite embarrassing when I realised.

My research has no significance for me, which makes researching it very diffiult. Because my participants and I guess my 'audience' view me very suspiciously as I am not one of 'them'. I won't go into specifics cos of identity, but its probably pretty easy to work out who I'm researching if you think about broad differences in society between groups of people.

I am actually having a whole chapter dedicated to the difficulty of researching this area as a researcher with my background.

In a very funny mood today, mainly consisting of refreshing my email and staring at my computer thinking "I should do work" - but it will never get done.

I think we need a troll or some socks. Clevercloggs was quite fun but now he's gone tame :-(

Wow everyone has bigger aims than me :$ but I think that's where I slipped up in the past - it just doesn't work for me and I end up demoralised.
