right having faffed all day, I am armed with a coffee, my glasses and mytomatoes I WILL do some work before half 5 if it kills me.

maybe its something to do with pressure - I mean the weather kind, not the deadline kind. I know my cats get all cranky with pressure changes. My hubby is at work so comes home with stories about all the projects he works on to make me feel guilty. I can't trust myself in a shared office because I talk everyone to death so have to stay at home staring at the walls.

The worst thing is that i have loads to do and I think I do this to myself - leave it all to the last minute and then panic and have horrible migrains for a few days and wish I had had longer to do it.

oh teek, are you me today? I've flitted all over the internet, done 2 dog walks, put washing on, tried to sit down and do a few tomatoes. I can't do it! maybe its the weather.

Problem is I find on days like this that at about 4pm I suddenly get 'in the mood' and then I have to go and pick hubby up at 6 which ruins it all and then he wants attention (like a small child) for the rest of the evening.

I feel restless.

I have to go through regression output with students soon and I want to be prepared for any awkward questions as I'm going to be observed by a stats expert :-(

has anyone got any potential questions? or things they were confused about when doing regression?

Although it makes you estimate how many tomatoes you need beforehand and write what task it is beforehand. its also a little clinical looking i.e. not as fun as mytomatoes.

hmm I don't think it lets you write down what you've done - rubbish. NEXT!

I've literally just downloaded 'focus booster' a free adobe thing that goes on your desktop. I'm just testing it to see if its any better than mytomatoes - I really wanted one that you could say what task you were going to do in that 25 mins, and then say whether you did it if that makes sense. This focus booster thing doesn't do that, but you can alter the times which is quite useful.

thanks ev, just backed up all my work from this week. I do back up every few months, but when you think of losing 10,000 words you wrote during one week, it would be so demoralising!

even better. My Sup has turned down the meeting on monday, so it will now be after easter, which gives me a little time to get going with the work and get it out there.

Today I want to get these stupid findings DONE, going to track down a few 'non-provocative' quotes and neaten the whole thing up - and make it more bland to keep the company happy. Then I'm hoping it will be the last time I touch the stupid findings. Then will move onto re-doing intro tomorrow and then discussion and then maybe, just maybe it will go into a journal for review.

Well yesteday was completely blown out. The plumber came round and we had a nice chat about how he did an intensive course to become a plumber and he only ever commutes 15 mins max - and said my hubby should do an intensive course like he wants to to become electrician. ALthough now I'm thinking I should do it! he also fixed the boiler and the shower without charge :-)

And then I watched new moon :-x and then I watched all the extras on the blu ray :$ and then it was 6pm!

But just as I was thinking, in utter dispair that i had wasted the day and have no time before the meeting on friday to get the work done, I got an email cancelling the meeting! i think it will now be on Monday. :-)

iphone has loads of guitar tuners if that helps. I never learnt it because the hand position I use for my string instrument is so diffferent to the guitar and it just felt wrong. My brother is a classical and spanish guitarist which I am deeply jealous of because he doesn't just strum chords out, but actually plays intricate melodies etc.

Edited to say he actually does it for a living and has a loads of albums boooooo and I'm a crappy wannabe academic :-(
