the 'food doctor' diet is all about eating the right stuff at the right time to keep energy levels up. i think there is a lot of talk about seeds to pick you up when feeling tired midday (I bought the whole set of books, read that it involved things like sweet potato and lentils and its been on my shelf ever since)

My shower has been leaking into the floor below into our kitchen and therefore trips the electricity everyday when having a shower. My dad thinks its super dangerous to be using the shower, but oh well! anyways, to investigate earlier I pulled out our (big heavy) fridge which is right below the shower. It felt fine at the time, but then half an hour later and I can't walk, my legs are going numb and think I've messed up ANOTHER disc in my back, so hobbling about at the moment. I managed a short dog walk in agony, but no other exercise. I have eaten a cherry gateux slice tho - is that 1 of my 5??? obviously calorie count has gone out of the window. Will be taking many drugs to get to sleep tonight with the pain :-(

But the optician gave me a new prescription and said I didn't have a huge tumour in my brain, so hopefully the migraines will stop!

stats help again :-(

Yep it means that although the overall model is still significant i.e. it predicts the outcome better than using the best guess (the mean), but the variables you added in the 2nd? block don't really add much. i.e. they do not add to the variance in a significant way.

An increase in variance of .04 is pretty small, and if the F value is smaller in the second model, it suggests the first model may be better.

I help MSc students with regression - are you making sure that you have at least 10-15 cases per predictor? - its the most common mistake they tend to make.

I learnt to knit when i was younger, although I could never cast on and cast off - my mum always did that for me! Although i never remember it being therapeutic, just irritating and I used to get sore fingers/thumbs. The main problem is that I can't stand wearing wool so the motivation of making anything is pretty much non-existent.

well I used to firmly stick to mature chedder which I have grated on anything, e.g. spagetti, bread, stew ANYTHING. But i have now branched out. I like blue cheese like roqufort with cauliflour to make a soup, or I sometimes stuff chicken breasts with blue cheese. I also bake camembert and poor honey over it and eat it with breadsticks - this is the most fattening thing ever though, so not for a dieter!

I also like goats cheese baked on toast with shredded leeks or with tomato, or I guess you could crumble it over salad like you would with feta.

agree totally sascha, but he does ride them like horses, and generally annoy them in a steve irwin-esque manner! I'm watching it now :$

Emailing your sup

I think its better to send work beforehand, although whether he/she will read it is a totally different matter. I sent my sup work on thus for a meeting on mon and she told me loads of things to change (most of them I had changed before sending it to her) and then at the end she said 'oh I only skimmed a few pages' - SO WHY TELL ME TO CHANGE STUFF IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT!!!????

Endnote question

it is linking it to where it is stored somewhere else. But they should all be stored in the same folder, so if you ask to make a copy of the library, then it should bring it all with it.

I drink goats milk, because I love the taste, but I think it is supposed to be better if you don't like lactose (you can tell I have no idea what I'm talking about!). I thought soya milk was linked to nut allergies in kids? - anyways its pretty grim tasting stuff. I don't drink alcohol so reckon I'm pretty safe on milk!

ah I must admit that i have issues with my water intake - I never drink any water unless I'm lecturing, when I seem to go through about 3 bottles an hour. I tend to rely on tea (and now innocent smoothies).

I bought a juicer years ago, and I have a smoothie maker (so far used for pancake mix and milkshakes :$ ) so thinking abotu making my own smoothies out of REAL fruit, rather than spending loads on innocent smoothie company - I even have their book that I bought years ago to make all their smoothies.

I think polynomial refers to the contrasts. if you do post hocs you don't need to do contrasts - its basically way a different way of finding out the same stuff. There is a page in andy field that shows what all the different contrasts do.

Glad about the arm Bug! I am having a lazy day today, after the last 2 weeks of constant working - with 12 hour days and working weekends I'm a bit exhausted.

This thread has encouraged me to go and get an eye test though, so booked one for this afternoon. I've been having really bad migraines when working, so thinking I might need a stronger glasses prescription.
