Sounds like a good idea bug - will put your mind at rest.

I managed to eat my 5 a day yesterday! First time I have eaten fruit in about 3 years. I had a fruit salad from M&S for lunch, had tomatoes in my spagetti for dinner and had an innocent smoothie drink.

I also went shopping and bought a load of fruit and veg for meals this week!

Could it by your sinuses? Sometimes that can cause toothache.

Wal - I probably am addicted to co-codamol but the dr said I need surgery, but they won't let me have it because I'm too young, so they told me to take the drugs. When i asked "will it trash my liver" the doctor said "its swings and roundabouts" - nice!

here's my confession. I have recently been listening to the Glee album :$ and after being taken to 'love never dies' a few weeks ago, and thinking it was really good despite what the papers say I have also been singing along to the album while doing analysis.

Fictional interviews as 'method'

a 'fictional interview'??? isn't that 'just making stuff up' in a multiple personality kinda way?

As others have said clove oil is great for this, although if you can't stand the taste then use bonjella.

Go to the doctors on Tuesday and ask for Co-codamol to take away the general pain and diclofenac sodium to take away any swelling - they might knock you out but it will get rid of the pain and the co-codamol will help you sleep. I take about 12 co-codamol a day and 4 diclofenac + a range of other meds and they make me very sleepy!

OK, I'm starting today. So far I've made a bad-ish start in that I've had cereal, and when I weighed it out its about 400Kcals - BUT I have finished the pack so going onto non-sugary cereal as of tomorrow. About to go on a long dog walk. hopefully I can manage to eat healthily for the rest of the day!

stats help again :-(

if you have done a hierarchical regression (i.e. used block 1, block 2 etc) then you can request 'change statistics' when you run it. So when you get the table with R2 and adjusted R2, to the right in the same table, there are 'r2 changed' and significance values - to denote whether the change was significant.

Are you using SPSS?

R2 gives the amount of variance accounted for by the model. Adjusted R2 gives the same statistics, but estimated for the POPULATION rather than the sample (which is what R2 gives). If your R2 is close to Adjusted R2 then it means that your model is pretty good at estimating what is going on in the population, not just the sample. I've never seen significant values for these (just the change stats, when necessary).

When looking at the significance for the overall model, its the F value that has significance.

Although I could be wrong - anyone please feel free to contradict!

I didn't think R2 and adjusted R2 had significance values? - or am I going crazy? are you talking about the change statistics in a hierarchical regression? So confused!

If you are looking for a career as a practioner in HRM, rather than an academic you are far better off doing CIPD training and I think there are MCIPD - management versions as well. A PhD in HRM would be pretty much ignored in the workplace.

Can I recommend sitting down (without a laptop on your knee) and watching a funny film - laughter is the best medicine after all.

that's my only saving grace, I've slipped into being tee total, not from any desire to be, my husband hates alcohol - the taste of it, so its a bit lonely being the drunk wife giggling on the floor, so I've stopped. So no smoking, no drinking. If I can get the exercise and diet thing sorted I will be super healthy (touch wood - its always when you say something like that that you come down with some incurable tropical disease)

i'm fine on the calcium front - cheese being my made food source :$

I daren't try mixing anything with ice cream - i have NO self control, so it would just turn into a bowl of ice cream with no fruit. I can actually stomach the idea of drinking a plain fruit smoothy - I seem to have a phobia of touching cold fruit cos its all slimey eewww, but I'm fine with it all wizzed up in a glass, or even hot (i do like plain hot stewed apple without any sugar).

I forgot to say that I do seem to have a phobia of cold food in general. I hate salads, fruit, sandwiches, unless toasted. I KNOW its wierd :$ So basically I would much rather have a plate full of broccoli and cauliflower etc than cold salad. I think I will also try making some homemade soups so I can chuck loads of veg in and then wizz it so I don't know its there.

My main aims are to lose weight, get fit and get healthy. A little bit of a confession about me....I walk the dog for about an hour a day but apart from that I'm not doing any exercise :$ I have a problem with my spine which means I am not meant to jog, row, do sit ups or anything that might pull or jar it and the problem prevents me from walking without severe pain. So when I do exercise I tend to stick to exercise dvds and my home bike - but haven;t done either in over 9 months now. My diet is atrocious at the mo, mainly consisting of takeaways, sweets, chocs and caffeine. I eat NO fruit and NO veg at all - I HATE them yuk! So my main aims for the coming months

- to lose weight (or more acccurately to get a healthier BMI - not too worried about weight per se)
- to eat my 5 a day
- to get fit

My aims for this week

- stop eating sugary things so get rid of the addiction
- drink innocent smoothies and eat veg with dinner to get my 5 a day
- have a daily calorie intake of 1200 Kcals
- do 10 mins on my bike at least 3 times (i need to work my way up to more time cos I am super unfit)
- get out my wii fit and start doing exercise on that and weekly weigh ins.

I think I will probably annoy you all with a food & exercise diary on here!

ok well I've re-written the method, and now starting to look at results. Problem is they are currently 4,500 words long, so need to be cut dramatically and have no idea what I'm doing! going to have lunch and then make a start.
