hmm, yeah I thought you revert to being Mr/Mrs/Miss when you were a consultant or if you're really good in medical stuff?? My surgeon is a 'Mr' (and looks like Mario :-) )

I'd love to use it everywhere - I spent 3 and half years (and counting) getting it so why not. Although after the fuss changing to my married name in reality I'll probably not bother. :p

haha, his sup isn't replying to emails, so it may well be a non-inspected submission. Bit dodgy, but there's nothing he can do.

I found a piece of paper he was given about paper grade etc. I'll go and have a look and see if they'll be happy with spiral bound type or not.

Hubs is about to submit, the uni need 3 copies or something of the thesis. He says he's just going to print them out at home ( we have a big laser printer thingy and about 3 years worth of ink).

But I thought they had to be done more professionally - bound or something??

What's usual with this kind of thing?

hi TheAce - is there any opportunity to work from home? You could always consider trying to find a mon-fri type room-let and then stay for a few days a week. e.g. work at home 3 days a week and then commute/stay over in your mon-fri room for the other 2?

I know what you mean - I've usually used up all my amazingness in the 'personal statement' section of an application form and don't want to seem silly by repeating it. In these cases I often put a line or two about how I think I'd really fit and more info can be found in my personal statement about my skills and blah blah blah.

ooh well, once you've got it and you realise they need someone who thinks they've done mixed methods research, but isn't quite sure why or how, then send them my CV (up)

I saw a book that seemed to suggest that pragmatism is post-postmodernism (!) think I may skate around that and pretend none of it exists :p

Now from what you've said Ady, I don't know whether I'm classical or neo-pragmatist. I think I'm neo (?) urgh.

ok, so this is my last final question. After about an hour looking I can't work it out...

Is pragmatism the same thing as post-modernism? or are they different??

Bearing in mind its taken me ages to look at this I'd doubt any potential examiners will know either but I'd rather be prepared for any odd questions and/or add a sentence in to clarify.

You could present them with your analysis and ask for their comments. Or you could talk to a different group of similar people and ask for theirs (e.g. like a focus group).
