Hi all,

Last night I went to a postgrad meetup at the pub, had a few too many shandies, got home late and had to be up early to go to a staff development course all morning.

I'm now rather tired and can't face getting started on PhD work today so my goal for the afternoon is to prepare materials for the next 3 classes I'm teaching.

Second goal is done (for now). My final goal for today is to spend the next couple of hours working on a fresh analysis.

Sorry I can't be of any help with the presentation and interview thing Sneaks, as I haven't even thought about applying for jobs yet, never mind how I would go about preparing for interviews and things!

Multiple choice questions prepared (which took me a little longer than I'd have liked) and I've had lunch.

My next goal is to continue searching through my data for examples of a particular phenomena.

Goal 1 and supervision done. My next goal is to prepare some multiple choice questions for a stats class I'm teaching on Monday. I'll probably forget about it if I don't get it done now. I aim not to let this take me any longer than an hour.

I have supervision at 10 so my first goal is to spend the next 20 minutes looking over my data for examples of a particular phenomena. I'm really struggling with it though so it's good that I have supervision today!

I realised earlier that due to my technical problems (which I resolved by formatting my pen drive) I didn't have the work I was planning on doing today on my pen drive. Doh.

However I just had a really inspiring meeting and my next goal is to look through my data for further examples of something which came up today.

I am also late getting started today because I had an hour to work at home but this was taken up with technical problems so I didn't manage to do anything. I then had a doctors appointment (they syringed my ears and I can now hear properly again, its amazing!) and have only just got onto campus.

I now have just over an hour before a meeting with my research group. Before then my first goal is to look over my chapter to get an idea of what I need to do on it this afternoon and my second goal is to do one piece of transcription.

My second goal is done and also took me ages. :-s

My final goal for today is to get at least 3 pieces of transcription done by 6pm.

There were a few problems with some people I know progressing from their masters to PhD on the 1+3. A friend of mine ended up with bank charges because she wasn't paid her monthly stipend. The university reimbursed her for these, you could see if your university will do the same?

I voted yes, not particularly because your supervisor is a numpty, but because my sup tells me that any edits he makes are suggestions, rather than bits I have to include because he has written them in.

My first goal is done. I don't believe it took me so long. Its almost lunch time and all I've done is send a couple of emails (well, with a lot of work on the extracts).

My second goal is one which I started last week which is to pull out things which may be relevant for me from a particular area of literature.

Right. I have got my gym session out of the way for today and I'm ready to go. I'm trying to ignore the fact that I'm quite tired and it feels like lunch time already because I'm not used to lifting weights at 7.30am.

My first goal is to choose extracts for a meeting with my research group and another meeting with my supervisor and to email them to the relevant people.

Oh yes I forgot how ridiculously expensive degrees are now compared to how it was back in my day (I DO feel old saying that!).

Hi everyone. I have just got back home after teaching this morning (I am quite jealous of the freshers who were all hungover because they don't have to worry about working full time hours, and basically my first year was like one big night out. Sigh).

My goal for this afternoon is to get my conclusion section more or less done. But first I need lunch!

This morning is all about getting my chapter together. My first goal is to read through and make any changes to the analyses and to start to get everything together into one document.
