Goals 1 and 2 done. Goal 3 part done. I have started drafting out the new section but feel like I should take a step back to decide whether I am actually going to include it and how I will incorporate it into the whole chapter.

I'm probably just deciding to do the 'nice' bits of work, but I am now going to move on to the 2 data chapters I am happy with and get those absolutely thesis ready.

Morning all. My goals today are;

1. Send an email about a job application as the recruitment part of their website has been down for days.
2. Actually do a word count as my full draft is nearly finished and I have no idea how many words I've written!
3. My major goal for the day is working on a data chapter. I realised yesterday that I really should add a whole other section to it.
4. I really should call into uni as I need access to some information stored on the machines there. I may end up putting it off until tomorrow or Friday though.

Damn, I'm usually out in the garden with my tanning oil willing the sun to shine! I have been particularly unsuccessful with that this year though...

My introduction is now expanded (a bit). Probably as I am so close to having my final draft done, I have started feeling like the whole thing is crap and won't be Good Enough. So I'm going to take a step back and work on a job application for the last hour of the day.

Factor 50... no chance!

I have now done my second goal. My discussion chapter is currently under 4000 words but I'm starting to feel like I've said all I have to say so I'm tempted to leave it more or less as it is and see what my sup says (especially as I am running out of time to do everything!).

My next goal is to expand my introduction.

Sorry! I don't usually bother with anything more than a touch of the gradual tan stuff on my legs but I'm going to Spain next Tuesday and don't want my pale, English skin to burn on the beach...

First goal done. My second goal is to draft out the future research and summary sections. I'm also going to pop into town over lunch (to use the sun bed :$).

Morning everyone. Sounds like things were a struggle for people yesterday so lets hope today is more productive! (I also didn't do too well yesterday).

My goal for the day is to get my discussion chapter in a reasonable state. My first goal is to redraft the thesis summary and contributions sections.

How is the introduction going?

Mine is currently 1400 words and I feel like I have said all I need to say. Hmm. Doesn't seem long enough though.

Oh well I am going to leave it for now and get on with editing the introduction sections of each of my analytic chapters. Hopefully I can get through them all before 4.30 (probably not though)!

How long are you baby sitting for Sneaks?

I am just getting into things after doing an hour or so this morning and then attending a meeting. My goals are;

1. Quickly finish writing the summary section of my literature review.
2. Get a chunk of my introduction chapter written.

I'm actually wondering if I should include some of my external examiner's work. I'll be making sure I'm more familiar with it than I am now by the time of my viva anyway as it is vaguely relevant.

If I'd have known who my inernal examiner was going to be from the start I might not have accepted her friend request on facebook!

Editted to actually answer your question- yes, my supervisor and I discussed it about 3 months ago.

First goal done. My next goal is to go through each section again as there are a few things which still need changing and to link everything together.

Today I'm going to see how far I get with making my literature review thesis ready. I still have to address my supervisors comments on a chunk of it so that is my first goal (this may actually take up the whole day but let's see...).

When is your viva Dunni?

I had a nice weekend away but I have been very slow to start this morning. I have to send a full draft of my thesis to my supervisor 2 weeks today. He was really impressed with the draft of my literature review and method so I don't have nearly as much work to do to redraft it so I am starting to feel complacent which isn't good at this stage! My first goal is to address his comments on a chunk of my literature review.

My methods chapter and a chunk of my literature review are now more or less thesis ready! Everything is really starting to come together (I am ignoring my introduction which I haven't even thought about, and my half drafted discussion chapter for now!).

My final goal is to start drafting out a job application and finish a bit early to tidy the house and pack to go away for the weekend in the morning.

I'm sorry to hear that Moonblue :-( Don't feel worry about it if you can't focus on work this afternoon.


I have now worked my way through my methods chapter and have been for a short lunchtime run. My next goal is to revise and amalgamate part of my literature review and part of my method.
