Giving up PhD

Looks like Zara's already made her mind up, and it MIGHT NOT be temporary. I've been miserable pretty much since day one, but decided to stick at it. Things certainly aren't better - if anything, they've got worse. Do what makes you happy Zara!

hmm, I wonder was that some kind of cunning plan? After all, whoever's FIRST is usually the winner...

Working hours...? How long in the lab?
S

9-5 (actually 8.30-4.45) in the lab, no teabreaks and an hour or slightly less) for lunch. I'm proud to say I have only worked in the lab ONE Saturday so far, but tend to do reading etc at the weekend. I rarely work weeknights - had enough of that during my undergrad! I think we've had a few discussions about this on the forum... if I thought that spending longer in the lab would get me more results I would probably do it, but that hasn't been my experience. I'm sticking to 9-5 and whatever results I get that's fine.

Now I see, now I don't...

How Long to Write Up?
