I know this sounds very much like stating the obvious, but you have to decide whether you are passionate enough about your research to put up with your supervisor. If you chose to take this on knowing what you were in for, then you'll probably be able to cope, but it might not be fun. Think about it - you knew what the supervisor was like, a few weeks in and what you heard has been confirmed, what's going to change?

Jen, I can see how you read my message, but that wasn't the way I intended it. I guess you read 'what's SHE going to study'. I just thought it would be interesting to hear a few suggestions of what we could imagine Courtney Love studying. As it happens, I wouldn't mind looking like her...

yeah, that's pretty bad. I'm planning to write my introduction LAST (after you've got the rest of the thesis sorted I reckon the introduction will come quite easily) and luckily no-one's forcing me to do otherwise. Try to find out from others if this is REALLY the final version.

I thought we were supposed to click on the boxes too! And I'm slowly getting used to the 'wrong' order - everytime something is moved in the bathroom it takes me about a week to get used to it!
