how to reply to offer letter! HELP!!
S

Well, they can't make you do your MA if you don't get the sponsorship, so you may as well accept it now and decide later.

You're still losing though

SPSS question. Oh man, they want more words in the title, so here.....!!!
S

You should be able to get it cheaply from your uni, otherwise the only other legit place is to get it from the SPSS themselves (which will be expensive).

Has Piggo been on the bevvies?

What's wrong with academics
S

My experiences are the same as Juno, they're all friendly with me and seem quite normal!

Phantom funding and the disappearing professor.
S

The money situation can sometimes drag out for months. Academics often appear to vanish (often they're away or just slow to deal with emails). Good luck with it.

BTW - your thread title sounds like a great mystery novel!

1142

-End of the reign of Emperor Sutoku, emperor of Japan
-Emperor Konoe ascends to the throne of Japan
-Henry the Lion becomes Duke of Saxony
-The Empress Maud, granted Oakley, Buckinghamshire church, with its chapels of Brill, Boarstall and Addingrove to the monks of St. Frideswide's Priory, in Oxford.
-Possible formation of the Iroquois Confederacy.

..So not a very interesting year then

You're all wasting your time. As the reigning 1000th poster you know you can't win against me (I'm still miffed about 1066 though).

Yes, I'm going to suggest the weather too. As a male of the species with a fine view out of his window over the main campus thoroughfare, I can safely say there is plenty to make me appreciate that, yes, there is a god.

two for joy? [baked in a postgraduate pie]
S

To be honest, I couldn't remember the original, but according to Google it is:

Hey diddle diddle,
the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

I think the alternatives are better!

So are we all going to vote?
S

I should and I usually do, only I forgot to register at my new address. I would have no idea who to vote for anyway. There's not much choice out there.

Question for the day though, in the first past the post system we have, many people tactically vote according to whether they like or dislike the sitting government, but does tactical voting encourage narrowly differentiated parties?

I'm outraged Piggie. Don't you realise this board is intended for non-PhD discussion?

Is there a special prize for post 1111?
