Identify where you waste time. (For me that was procrastinating on Facebook and Mumsnet!) Stop doing it! (I still have these sites blocked on my computer - I have no willpower).

A lot of the articles I read in the first year ended up being a bit irrelevant as my project developed. By the end of writing I had a "core" of about twenty articles which were really useful, and which I knew really well. Of course, I cited many other sources but it is not really necessary to remember every article you read!

Hi. I had minor corrections and these were dealt with in five bulletin pointsat the end of the report. However, we had already discussed them during the viva so there wasn't really anything else to add (and also they were very clear things to add rather than being anything that needed more explanation).

Hi - I am sorry to hear you are still going through this. I wouldn't do any more revisions though as there seems to be no guarantee at this stage and you would actually be going against the regulations. I hope tru's suggestions are sufficient.

I found this to be a huge problem and it got me seriously worrying about my mental capacity! The only thing that helped me was writing: not just note taking but trying to write what I had read into an article or chapter.

I don't think mine actually commented on the whole draft (and seeing as I only completed the last chapter hours before submitting, this is hardly surprising!) but they did give extensive comments on each individual chapter.

I was diagnosed with GAD while doing my PhD but, to be honest, I'm pretty sure I already had bad anxiety before starting. The pressure of studying while working, looking after kids really didn't help but I can't really blame that on the PhD if you see what I mean.

My university didn't pay for any stationery or printing. I also paid for book loans (at least the postage) which probably amounted up to about £100 over the years. I bought a laptop although my university now loans them out if you want them. I also paid for some equipment (pedal for transcription and some software). I didn't go to many conferences but there was some funding for this.

I appreciate the frustration but from what you have written, it seems like pushing for the correct forms could actually work against you. If both examiners choose 2.1 then you are worse off then you are now, if I have understood correctly.

Have you done any of the analysis yet? I think the answer would depend on the quality of the material you have already. With a very in-depth study it may be possible to have fewer participants but examine the material more closely. The trouble is until you have done the analysis it is difficult to say whether what you have is enough.

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this. When I saw this thread at the top of the board, I was really rooting for you that it was all resolved. Others have written already with good advice but I just wanted to say, hang in there and we're all thinking of you!

Hello anz07 - hope you have heard something by now. I got my examiners' report (passed with minor corrections) through today and it actually says on it that the university will inform the student if the corrections have been accepted within 3 weeks of submission - do you have anything in writing?

I always sent things ahead too otherwise you spend half the meeting explaining what you want to actually talk about.
