got back from the pub and started again at 10 pm but am now going to call it a night. . Managed about 8 hours of productive time and am really tired now!! Lara: What an amazing acheivement getting so much written to day! That is brilliant, well done you are definitely on a roll!! Fantastic!!!!!! Rubyw: What a brilliant idea about having a day off Monday! I know what you mean about having to see how it goes. It is strange, sometimes it is possible to write a lot, other times i can't seem to string a sentance together!! On these days it is definitely time for me to have my breaks!! It is hard to plan sometimes but you are right we definitely need to take the breaks when we need it as it helps keep everything fresh! Have you any plans for Monday? Hope you have a lovely day in what ever you choose to do. fingers crossed for better weather. Armendaf: I love fry ups!!!!!!! You can not beat a plate of bacon and eggs etc, yum yum! Hope you enjoyed it, and don't do too much tonight as you need a rest too, especially when you work so hard in the week. Swantje: Glad you had a good day. You really deserve a rest!! Hope everybody is having a good day. rubyw: Rice cakes and peanut butter yum!!! You are making me feel hungry and after writing this i am going to have something to eat!!! Lara and armendaf: hope everything is going well.
I have decided to have a break, grab some food and then get ready for the pub!!! Afterwards i will need to do some more work but i am going to try and go to bed around midnight today as tomorrow i am spending the morning in town (contact lens check up) and i don't want to be too knackered with red eyes for that!! It's horrid, they put this yellow iodide stuff in your eyes to check that everything is healthy, then you have to take out the contacts at the end as they are nicely stained yellow!!! Tmorrow afternoon i will be back although not sure of the time yet so will see you then! Will need to crack on with lots more work tomorrow to meet my aims for the weekend so fingers crossed!
Anyway, hope everyone is ok and good luck with all the aims for the rest of the day!

PS rubyw: Where i grew up we have a small local football team (my little 9 yr old nephew plays for them at the minute) and their nickname is the tractorboys! Because i always follow the results and sometimes watch my nephew play if i am in my home town at the odd weekend i have become their number one supporter!! Hence i am tractorgirl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know what you mean about everyone's nickname, i am really curious about some of them too!!!

Hi Everyone!

Hope everybody has had a good night and that noone is under water!! I live quite near to one of the areas that was flooded last year and was thinking a repeat performance may happen last night! I have never heard rain quite so bad!! Lucky though that the roads are all fine today. Last year i drove my car through what i thought was shallow water only for it to die on me half way through the puddle. THe next thing i knew was that the water started rising and was up to the car door!!!!!!! I had to abandon the car, stay at a friends over night as i coudn't get back home as all the roads were shut and then the AA collected the car a few days later!!! Mind you least i was lucky not to have the house flood and i really felt for all those people, i think it is only now that some of them have been able to go back home.
Anyway, just checking in for the day. I am planning to get loads more tidying up stuff to do today as i will have chapter 7 to do next week. My sup is getting it back to me Monday and i think it will require a lot more work!!! Apart from that i still feel i have loads to do and am doing my panic of not thinking i will make the deadline. I must try to stay calm, we can only do our best, but it is so hard. Anyway well done to everyone for getting so much done this week, we should be really proud and we are all getting there. Armendaf: Hope the tooth is ok today and hope you have a great day. Lara: You have finished the introduction!! That is fantastic!!!!! Well done, that is a really big achivement, you should be really proud and you are nearly there! I think it is brilliant, and you really inspire me to get some more done today. Well done again on the pics, i understand that it can take ages to sort stuff like that out but you have done so much this week and are really getting there.

Although i am planning to work until 2 am (won't have everything done but at lease most of it!!!) i am posting now because my computer seems to be playing up and if it crashes later on i might be too tired to send a decent post!!!! Swantje: Hope you get back into the normal sleep pattern quickly and once again a massive congratulations for today, brilliant!! Armendaf: sorry to hear about the tooth, i know what you mean about the expense! The dentist is so pricey it's unbeleivable! I heard somewhere that if you are in prison though you get free dental treatment!!!!!!! It doesn't seem fair!!!!!! Hope your work is going well. Lara: Hope you are ok and that the can of coke is working!! I have been trying to cut down on caffine over the last few months so am now buzzing after my can earlier on!!!!!!!!! Just checking in for the evening. Been to the gym, had some dinner and now ready to start the night shift! Think it is going to be a long night!!!! Swantje: Well done!!! That is fantastic news!! You must be so pleased!! What an acheivement, well done. Make sure you do something nice at the weekend to celebrate and good luck for Thursday. Well done again, really brilliant news. Armendaf: Hope you are ok and that the dentist's went alright. I had a filling fall out a while ago and that was a real pain so understand it must be awkward. Hope everything is ok now. rubyw: DM was a distraction!!! Really good, i think i might have to buy the box set!!!! Hope you had a good day, thanks for your message and yep the headache is gone! Still need to write the contents page etc though so am starting it in a minute! Hope you met all your aims for the day and good luck with the writing tomorrow. Lara: Good luck with the introduction and well done for doing so well today, you are really getting there now, nearly there!!! Hope you are ok though and that the cramps are gone. Don't over do it tonight, i know you want to get loads done but don't worry as there is all weekend too! I know i am fussing but i don't want your cramps to come back because you are doing too much!! Lara and rubyw: Hope you are both having a good day. rubyw: Hope all your pictures are ok and don't worry about sounding like you were panicking in your last post!! That is what we are all here for, to listen and help each other as we stumble through this panicking PhD process!!!! Lara: Well done on getting so much done yesterday! You are a star and have inspired me to get moving!! Yesterday i did very little as i felt rubbish but today i MUST get the contents,figure and table lists done and the appendix sorted out! I keep putting it off but must get it done by tonight! Especially as next week i have a feeling i will have loads to do on blasted chapter 7!!!!! Anyway hope everyone has a great rest of the day and speak later. Anyone on the late shift tonight only i will be joining you!!!!

Rubyw: What brilliant advice. Lara, i think it is also well worth speaking to a supervisor as well if you are really worried. It will put your mind at rest. rubyw is also right about getting some rest and not overdoing it too much as you don't want to over worry and being tired tends to make this happen. After all we are only human and things always look worse when we are extra tired. Anyway hope your day goes well today and try not to worry about things.

Everbody is doing so well and working so hard, i am really confident everyone will get there. I am a bit ashamed as i didn't do too much last night (had a bit of a headache). Today my headache is still quite bad so i am going to try to do easy things like the figure and table list, then try some reading. Swantje: Good luck with your chapter and hope next Friday goes well. Armendaf: Hope you have a good day today and it's brilliant you got so much done last night, you are virtually there. Rubyw: Sorry to hear your day wasn't great yesterday but hope today is better. I understand how annoying it must be when there are techy issues but you did so well to address the problems. That is really great and by sorting them out now you won't have to worry later on. Well done for getting so much done and have a great day today.
Lara: Don't worry about finding it hard to work after dinner!! I do too!! I think it is because after a nice dinner the body naturally winds down, but a good dinner is very important though. Try not to worry, you will get this thesis done, you still have plently of time and you will not fail. You have come so far and if there was even a hint you might fail you would have been told this long before now. They is just no way you will not get there. Try to stay positive because you are doing so well. Would it help if you divided the days left among the chapters? Maybe a couple of days on each? Anyway don't worry because you are nearly there.

Just checking in for the day. Am a bit sleeply as couldn'y get too sleep last night, thinking about the thesis etc. Armendaf: glad you enjoyed the footie! I remembered because my boyfriend is a FA referee and he goes to a match on Tuesdays as well!!! Good luck woth Chapter 3, you will get there and you are doing so well.
Lara: Thanks for your messages, they always make me smile. Armendaf is right, 13 pages is amazing, well done! I have got every confidence you will get there. You mustn't worry because your thesis will be brilliant. You are working so hard. A friend said that to me the other day that there is only one expert on your thesis and that is you!! Don't be too harsh on yourself because it will be brilliant, and you will definitely pass. Hope you hae a good day today. Also how was the DVD? Which one did you watch? I watched one called Nims Island the other day, it was really good.
Rubyw: Mary poppins! Of course, i had forgotten Dick van Dyke was in that!! I can't beleive i did forget though as it is on almost every Christmas or other hoilday!!! Very good though, i also like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Dick Van Dyke is a legend!!!!!!!!! Will definitely have to see the Diagnosis murder episode today!! Just having a break so thought i would ask how everyone is getting on? Lara: Don't worry, you won't run out of time i promise!! You are nearly there, keep plugging away with Chapter 5, you are doing so well. As for me, although i guess i am getting there, i still feel i have loads to do! Although most my chapters are done (well in drafts at least!!) i am going over bits and finding i still have loads to do/add to the chapters!! I think i will run out of time before you!!!!!!! Then there is the issue of what happens if the thesis is not up to standard although i am trying not to think about that yet!!!! I think i an due to get terminated at this rate on September 30th eek!!!! We might have to put our plan of running away in action!!!!!
Rubyw: Diagnosis murder, fab!!! I love it!!! I am completley addicted to it!!!!!! What happened only i missed it today as i met a friend for lunch. He is so clever, although he seems to do most the detective work and not his son!!!!!!
Armendaf: Thanks for your message, i was relieved but am going to now make back ups of all my back ups! How is your football going? Have you been recently?
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day. Now i am off to add more stuff to chapter 1 (lacking a few bits to say the least!!!)

Sorry that should be rubyw and armendaf my spelling is terrible today!!!!

I don't believe it, in at work to day and disks returned!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to take them home and hide them!! Still also going to check the references are all there and correct! Therefore new aims: Check references are ok, then crack on with some suggestions from supervisor 1 about chapter 1!

The only good thing is that everything else with the thesis is nearly done. I will have to correct Chapter 7 again and although one supervisor said she had loads more suggestions to change the rest, the other supervisor is happy with it. Because of the reference mess i really need to now get these references sorted out. Therefore aims:
This week and some of next: Get references re-written (after Endnote has been re-applied to the computers, today i am told). Also next week: tweek 2 figures i want to alter.
The week after (15th-19th: Final changes to Chapter 7 and proof reading)
The week after that (22nd-26th: Final read, print and bind and take to university to submit!!!!!!!)

Talk about stress though!!!! Hope everyone else is well, and good luck with the writing today!!!
