Weekend Master's courses London - do they exist?
T

I've only heard about 5 week masters courses that are parttime over two years. The idea being that most people get 5 weeks holiday from their jobs so can work fulltime whilst doing the MSc.

I'm ready to submit - or am I - yes I am - but wait, am I?

Submit! And well done! :)

Defending thesis online (Skype, FaceTime, etc. ) rather than in person...
T

I've done an annual viva via skype on my laptop. It was fine. I just did a group call and kept looking at them for signs that the call was breaking up or they couldn't hear me etc. Obviously it's easier to do it in person though as you don't need to worry so much about these things.

I think it's going to be difficult getting everyone together, cost-wise and time-zones and time away etc.

Tier 4 Visa from India

Why do you need to get to the Uk by the 9th of Feb? If it's to start a PhD, most of the time this is flexible as universities know that international students struggle with visas.

gre for master??
T

In the UK we don't use GRE as far as I know. It's really just your undergrad degree that is considered, and possibly A-level equivalents and your interest and enthusiasm for your subject.

Anyone finishing this year?
T

I'm trying to get a full draft by the end of April but it looks increasingly unlikely. I've written one paper and I have 2 chapters out of 6 done (and bits of the others) and data collection is finished now at least. My stipend finished in September and my savings run out at the end of May...

Good luck to all!
