I agree, if he's interested he probably knows the person doesn't have experience in that area anyway. Just keep it general and talk about other skills that are transferable.

1. Take the hit and realise that, after 16 hours, Excel is not going to spontaneously recover, so it's time to click 'end process' and hope that at least some of yesterday's work has been saved...
2. Spend 8 hours on my Material and Methods chapter, bearing in mind that the deadline for finishing is today and that's not going to happen, hence why I'm stuck in the office on this beautiful sunny Sunday.
3. Leave at 8pm, go home, do a few things, and be in bed by 10pm.

Yes, sometimes by just talking to people, or even writing on here, we get the best ideas! Just keeping thinking and reading, and you will find a gap in the literature to address. This process can take a lot of time, but that's the fun of research...

Remember it's only for a short duration. Keep your outside friends as much as you can, even if you socialise with them less as you will want to still be friends with them when you finish.

Yes... I can relate. I think I really should start saying no to social invites but I'm finding this very difficult as I want to see my friends. I spend one day a week with family and then probably 2 evenings a week with friends. The rest of the time I am spending 10-12 hour days on the PhD, but this leaves very little free time for alone time and chores etc. At some point I think I will have to start declining invites.

Not really, the only way you can find topic ideas is by reviewing the literature in your area or asking your supervisor.

I think it can be a dissertation. You need to look at other countries that may have done this and the social, economic, ethical impacts etc and compare this to research in similar areas in Thailand.

It's supposed to tie all the threads of your thesis together, so you should write about your main findings and their significance.
