I advice to stay out of it. It doesn't sound like it has anything to do with you, so as long as you have your name on it, that's what matters. Congrads!

Saving money on living expensives
V

Hi I'm going top be doing a masters at Manchester this year. I'm not very good at saving money. I got out of my habit of shopping sprees a while ago but I still buy expensive food because I don't like a lot. I was wondering if anyone got any advice on saving money as I won't have much to live once the fees and accommodation are paid.

leigh1 no it is not possible to get funding with a 2:2 in science from a rsearch council. If you're sure I'm wrong tell me the research council which will give such funding as I never found one. Reread the first post to see the goal was to do a MSc in medical microbiology (hence adking for advice on funding it).

Anyway; I found out not long after I started the thread I got accepted to do MSc in Medical and Molecular Microbiology at Manchester. (I accepted there was no way to fund the course at Surrey so I sent an email as a last attempt to find if Manchester will take me). It'll eat away most of a career development loan but hopefully I'll somehow manage. To shani, I'll definitely look for work during my masters, but in order to get a personal loan I would have be working now and start paying it back straight away. With a career development loan I'll pay it back 2 months after the course ends.

I was wondering if it's possible to report users here? I can't see the option for it. Thanks.

I came here for advice on funding, if no one can give me advice fine, but don't excuse me of being irritable and not doing enough research over nothing!

I explained the situation in detail in my first post, but I think I won't bother with this forum considering how I'm treated!

17 July 2007 16:24 well if you see my post, I have stated that your's doesn't.

Sometimes theres no point bothering with people who expect the answer to their problems dished out for them on a plate without any work whatsoever.

Wow you're rude! As you can see from my original post I already done a lot of research, that's why I came here because I'm desperate. Please don't post in my thread if you're going to flame me.

As for applying to somewhere else, I am awaiting replies from 2 other unis but I don't think I've been accepted. I'm looking for advise for paying for this particular course.

My point is mine doesn't.

Try the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. They fund EU students doing a degree outside of their country.

MSc Funding with a 2ii

Surrey doesn't offer funding for that degree.

As I said before for science a 2:1 at least is needed to get funding.

Hi I can't apply for funding (I checked many places).

I would have to have a 2:1. The examples you know of probably are for ARTS. If not can you tell me the organisations please?

I have considered working but I'm having trouble finding work. I don't know why, it never was this hard before I finished my degree. I'm 24 so I rather not put off the masters for too long.

Hi I'm new and very desperate. I got a 2:2 in Microbiology. That means I can't get funding from rsearch councils or whatever as they only fund people who get a 2:1. This is the case for sciences.

I have checked every bank and none can offer me a loan which will cover the course I got accepted to (MSc medical microbiology at Surrey).

I can't get a graduate loan as I don't work.

I can't use a career development loan as it only goes up to £8000 and the tuition fees will reach nearly £13 altogether (it's an enchanced masters).

I can't take a normal loan as I don't work and can't afford to start paying back straight away.

I feel like I'm looked everywhere, has anyone got any advice please?!!
