Yep, I'm doing a late tonight, like most of the days over Christmas. I'm actually a hardened veteran of the Nocturnal Workers thread. Never mind catching the Midnight Express, I actually drive it.
Well, I don't mean to be horrible, but marmite is made from microbial waste and that's not how I get my jollies from food. I'd rather eat a (sprout) raw.
I hate it, and I've never even tasted or smelt it!
Well, sounds like you're doing a rather big PhD there. You sound about where you need to be from what you have described, perhaps a bit behind with getting ethical approval though, but nothing to worry about.
Mixed methods, as you'll know, is quite a recent development and, if your supervisors are like mine, they won't be well up on it. So, yep, I can empathise. The feelings that you have about never getting it done in 3 years? Very common - see one of the threads below. So, your feelings are perfectly common place.
If you feel that you're no being advised properly, could you not discuss your feelings with your supervisory team? Alternatively, would it be possible to bring an additional member into your team of supervisory team who may be able to give you the extra support you need?
To re-iterate, everything and are experiencing is normal.
Here, have a mice pie (mince) and a Merry Christmas
I nearly spat my cold cup of coffee out on my keyboard when I read about the sub-standard Walkers crisps you had. Now, I'd expect that of Golden Wonder, but... I can't really add to the advice that you have already been given by both the lovely Sneaks and Cobweb (oh, got 640 points in the Xmas game last night Cobweb! Take that and party!), but I can tell you a funny story about me standing up for my consumer rights that may bring a smile.
I'd bought one of those meat feast pizzas from Asda (sorry vegetarians, but you can't describe it as meat - doesn't taste like it). Anyway, it was 2-99 and when I opened it, there was hardly any meat on it - just 3 pieces of peperoni! Well, I turned into a psycho version of Martin Lewis and called up my local Asda.
"Hello?"
"Yes, hello there. I've just bought a pizza from your establishment and there's hardly any meat on it. There's just 3 pieces of peperoni."
"What size is it? What is the product code?"
"I've looked under the cheese. There's definitely only 3 pieces of peperoni and there's not really any ham either".
"Please can I have the product code?"
Anyway, despite my best efforts at being a consumer champion, I only managed to get a George Gift Card worth £2! I ate the pizza in the end and it was the most meatless meat feast pizza I have ever had.
Jinkim65, perhaps take a break this afternoon or find some light administrative work you can do, which there's all someone of. Come back to it tomorrow with a clearer head. I'm having to write up as I conduct my research and it's no joke. I'm feeling exactly like you with wishing Father Christmas was a prestigious Doctor of Science and thesis writing windmill, who could just give me my thesis for Christmas. Oh, and change you brand of crisps! Blood Walkers! Try Seabrooks! Your statutory rights are not affected. :-)

I scored 15 points - that's pathetic. I'm sure someone will beat me.
Right, time to stop moaning and get into the Christmas spirit. This is the imaginative Christmas party thread for all us forumites, where we can come to chill out, dance and play party games. So...We've got Noddy Holder belting his tobacco ravaged lungs out, Dean Martin has come back from the dead to croon out some festive songs (he, erm, looks a bit of a mess having not seen the light of day for many years and having only worms as mates), I've brought a 24 pack of Carling (they're all mine by the way! Bring your own, as my funding is gone in 9 months) and, wahoo, the party is just getting started.
The rooms a bit empty at the moment and I seem to be dancing by myself, clutching my 24 pack to my chest, but I expect us to be at full capacity as soon as we near the big day. Hmm, what games shall we play first...?:-)
I'll never manage to do mine in four years. No matter what I do, making progress boils down to one things: participation of others. Without participants I don't get data and without data I can't make progress. Things are very crap for me at the moment. And Christmas...don't even get me started on that! Yum, comfort eating time: (robin)(robin)(robin)(turkey)(snowman) And for afters: (mince)
