Hi, I have read several forums and blogs about pros and cons of second PhD. But I would like to explain my situation here. I completed a PhD in 2014. I wanted to do a postdoc immediately after that, but probably because of my few number of publications, I could not manage one. So I started teaching and already have spent a year. But I really miss those days as a researcher. I always wanted to work in R&D jobs. I never wanted to be a teacher, as this job is quite monotonous. At least I can say this about my current job. So I am willing to get back to research again. I do not think that I can get a postdoc now based on my first PhD, so I am willing to apply for another PhD. My preference is Germany or France. Can anyone suggest if this is a good idea or can I be accepted as a PhD candidate in those countries considering the fact that I already have one? Please suggest. Thank you.
