Does anyone have access to this paper? My university only has online access to this journal from 2006!
Many Thanks
Hello Everyone
Unfortunately my university does not have access to a particular paper. Would anyone be able to send me the PDF?
Prognostic value of cytoplasmic expression of S100A4 protein in endometrial carcinoma.
If anyone has access to this paper in Molecular Carcinogenesis, it'd be a great help!
Boyd J. and Risinger, J. I. 1991. Analysis of oncogene alterations in human endometrial carcinoma: prevalence of ras mutations. Molecular Carcinogenesis 4:189-195
I've included the NCBI PubMed entry:
I would like to read this paper in Anti-cancer research
http://ar.iiarjournals.org/content/32/6/2283.full.pdf+html
If anyone has access to it that would be smashing :)
I use an extral hard drive too and I also email things I'm currently working on to myself (incase I forget my hard drive on a certain day). I have numerous pen drives knocking around too, but sticking with old faithful (HDD). Which is, (on another topic) one of the best/most useful presents I've ever received :)
Hi Everyone.
The dreaded bombshell that thows the majority of your to-do list into the 'next weeks' to-do list! A paper review which I thought was for next week was due on monday :s whoops!
Although, done half of what I said on my to-do list for this week (SOPs will be put on the next list) and will hopefully taking charge of cell culture by next week :D
Hope everyone has had a good productive day, so far.
Thanks Anxious_PhDgirl,
Things have got a lot better now, the Post Doc has given me a plate (which was confluent so I couldn't continue the culture myself, but got started on the characterisation). I think
now I'm doing Westerns (which I've done before) I'm feeling more in control and its showing, with how the research staff are communicating with me ( I think :) ). The real test is how soon I will be given my own cells to culture, but atm I'm happy with the progress 'we' are making.
N.B. I have had quite a lot of cell culture experience during my Masters, but not with adherent cells.
Congrats on the job BatFink! and Xtiny I hope your feeling better :)
Right this weeks plan of action:
- Stripping western membranes and reblotting (because one of my antibodies is officially rubbish!).
- Prepare protein lysates and run another western ( is my cells have grown enough).
- Finishing the paper review I have been putting off for over a week. :S
- Organise journal club for this friday (even though I can't attend).
- Attend a full day seminar series as suggested by supervisor.
- Make up SOPs for methods not covered by SOPs or update the SOPs are overdue for updating.
NB. when I started making the list I didn't think I was going to have that much to do this week... I was wrong!
Hi
I'm new to the forum and to PhD life
I'm finding it difficult to get anything done because I have lots of things that seem to need doing all at the same time, so I'm flitting between things and basically not being productive. So hopefully this one goal thread will help :)
I'm starting my Western Blots tomorrow, so this afternoon I plan to:
- Go over the lab protocol
- Prepare all my buffers etc.
- Find out where everything is in the lab
- Work out the amount of protein in my samples and work out how much ill need to load per well
- Write up lab work from yesterday
Done the majority of my christmas shopping already, the joys of Boots and Amazon :D:-)
Hi Everyone
I just wanted to ask people their opinion on my situation.
As part of my PhD I am working with cell lines, managed to get one from another department in the University, but had to buy 2 others in. A postdoc ordered the cells (because he had access to the grant codes and I don't yet), then when they arrived ( I was not in the lab because they arrived at 6.30pm) they were put in the -80 freezer and the post doc (without informing me before or afterwards) thawed the cells and has started culturing them. Surely as its my project, with my grant money, I should be allowed to culture my own cells? The post doc has been training me up and I don't want to step on anyones toes, but how am I supposed to write up these experiements as my own if they wont allow me to do my own cell culture. I have come to the conclusion that once he's bulked up the stock that I can start from an early passage number. But am I right to be put out?
My supervisor is out of the country also :(
