Automotive Engg.--Which course? And which University???!!

F

I'm thinking of pursuing my higher studies in the UK or the US....Which colleges/Uni's would be the best choice for a Master's in Automotive Engg. or Motorsport Tech ? As is obvious,i'm interested in motorsports, but i suppose a degree in Automotive Engg./Automobile Tech. would be broader and offer more job prospects than the motorsport variant....
So which course do i take up after my Bachelor's ? As i understand it,there are two possible paths one can go down--Do a MechE course at a reputed Uni and gain as much experience as possible with a race outfit(working for free even!),or do a specialized course in Motorsport or racecar design and leave the rest to fate!

Help needed! What do i do next??!

Hi - When I was studying in England my exbf was studying Automotive Engineering at what I had heard was the best and most recognized university in the UK for Automotive Engineering/Motorsport which is Oxford Brookes University. He graduated last year with both his Bachelors and Masters, and since then the school is actually expanding it's Automotive Engineering Dept and adding a whole new wing to the school. They have their own racing team/car which as a student you work to put together and in the end of the year (last year usually) you will see it race against other schools usually in Canada I believe. www.brookes.ac.uk Hope that helps.

Leeds uni should be fine

A

There are two very good universities that are worth consideration:

Loughborough University
MSc in Automotive Systems Engineering

Cranfield University
MSc in Automotive Product Engineering
MSc Motorsport Engineering and Management

Q

Can anyone tell me about the career paths in motorsports and what kind of opportunities are there presently and in the future, higher up the career ladder?
