Hi guys... i got offer letter from following universities in UK. im kinda confused which one to go for

1. Coventry University
2 UWIC
3 . robert gordon university
4. University of Bangor
5. University of Lincoln
6. Staffordshire University
7. Glasgow Caledonian University
8.Teesside University


Also applied for following to which the response is yet to come

1 .University of Aberdeen
2.Oxford Brookes



Please help me out....to choose the right one...

Except for Aberdeen, all the others are "new" universities as they are known. (Lincon I am not sure about!) . MBAs from any of them will have the same value. If you are writing from abroad, may be you want to stay close to London. UWIC has centres around London, so may be an option. Bangor is in the middle of nowhere and Brookes will be expensive to live, being Oxford.Coventry is cheap to live and only 2 plus hours to London. Others are all the same in every angle.

I have been to Bangor University- it isn't a new uni or an old polytechnic- it was founded in 1884! I believe the business school is one of the best rated in the country (I think it was even rated top in the UK in an assessment last year or the year before). I know one of the lecturers from the school and it scores very well in various assessments. In terms of living there though, it is quite a small and quiet sort of place, but very friendly and cheap to live in! It's great for outdoor sports because it's so close to Snowdonia and loads of beaches, especially on Anglesey. There are a lot of pubs around, but only a few clubs. It's pretty close to Chester too. In terms of student satisfaction it's in the UK top 10- it's such a friendly place that people tend to really like it here, but most people have to move away after they finish uni because the jobs are pretty scarce. Personally, I had a fantastic time there, but it you're after a really wild time then it prob isn't for you! Best, KB

RGU ( Robert Gordon University is ranked 19th overall in UK for management studies... by guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2011/may/17/university-guide-business-management-studies)..... so taking up an MBA will be better rite?

Keenbean..sorry, I ignored Bangor in my reply when I said new uni's, because it is not a university for non-European. May be I was wrong (apologies in which case!) but I assumed the original post was from a non-european. It-s a very difficult thing to say but hey, that's me being honest. My assumption was based on the '..following universities in UK".. part in the original question. Pubs, skiing, football, being close to Liverpool :) may all be good for a Brit but for somebody else, it would be a nightmare to live there. It is always good to live near London. Otherwise yes, Bangor would be my choice too.

No worries Solution1! I just wanted to share my experiences of living there and my knowledge that the Business School is apparently very well-regarded! To be honest, for some people Bangor would be a nightmare- in the same way that I find big cities a bit of a nightmare to deal with on a day to day basis lol- London is the one place in the UK that I will absolutely not move to! I have loads of friends down there who love it but it just isn't for me! It just depends what sort of experience you're after, but most people I knew had become really fond of Bangor and were sad to leave. The business course in Bangor is hugely popular with the Chinese and Japanese, I remember walking into one of the business lectures by accident and noticing how many people there were from different corners of the world, so I 'm guessing it must be well-regarded abroad because I can't think of any other reason that Bangor would stand out for anyone desperate to go study in the UK! How about University of Sheffield and Kings college London? which among these might be better?

Today,Got an offer letter from UWE , Bristol Business School. Is that a better one than the other in the list?

Guys... i got an offer letter from Uni of Glasgow just now.. its ranked 12th as per guardian rankings.. shud i go for it?

Yeah I would. The Uni of Glasgow is much better regarded than UWE and going to uni in Scotland is an added bonus! The uni is in a nice part of the city called the west end with a huge park (Kelvingrove Park) and museums near it and Byers Road which has nice shops and cafes for you browse around and relax. Then of course there is uni life which is great in Scotland particularly going to ceilidhs (Gaelic dancing) and balls which they know how to do properly! Then if you head into the city centre there are lots of things to do from shopping, eating and drinking, concerts, and you can even be cultural if you wish.

Ask if the MBA is AMBA accredited. (AACSB or Equus just as good).
