Hello,
I've been away from studies for three years as I graduated in June 2004 and have just been admitted to Manchester University for a Management of Projects MSc degree.I struggled as an undergrad financially because I had to cope with work and at the same time study on the side hence a not very great performance (2ii).

Could you please advise as to what to do to ensure a perfect preparation as I'm ready to give it my all and i have already saved up for my MSc since my 3years absence from study.I don't want to miss this opportunity of getting the best result I could.

I'm going to do a masters at Manchester too (in microbiology). The best I do at the moment is read up on the subject.

Hello A1, I guess if you really want to be perfectly prepared (or as best you can!!) I would contact the module leader/tutors and ask them for the reading list or syllabus - that way you can plan ahead and read up on things you've never heard of!

A1, my advice is to read as much as possible any material(s) you can find on your course of study. It's a common practice in my part of the world to return to class after some years to get your Masters. Sometimes the experience(s) pays in the long run. You just take it in stride and live for the moment. Remember the undergrad days, the fun and all. Don't think about the age gap. Dont feel ancient either cos you'll definitely meet people that you are older than by 2-10 years as the case maybe. Do not let this be a barrier to learning from them. With God by your side, and ofcourse, you'll ask Him for wisdom, you'll sail through and get your wish - to get the best grade!

I had to save up and then work at the same time as my Masters. femogbangba is right - start reading NOW. I completed a massive chunk of the reading for my dissertation in the summer before I actually started - a lot of which I used in essays for my course - and it made a real difference

hi. i took 2 years off when i finished my bachelors in 2004. started my masters in 06 and finished last year. taken a year off and now starting PhD in october.
