Hi, I am a student for MSC Public Health and Health Promotion. I love this programme so much that I plan to pursue my Phd in this field also. My background is BSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
So glad to find this great website and hope to know more friends who are also loving Public Health studying.
Could someone recommond some books related to Public Health to me?
Thank you very much.

Hi
Well unfortunately i cannot help you with that but was hoping you can help as i plan to study public health also. If i may ask, what university do you study at? I am planning to specialize in health economics, i read you are also doing a module in health economics, is it hard or enjoyable because i have never done economics before? When did you apply for the course and how long did you wait until getting a reply? Are you self-funded or funded?
Sorry if its too many questions but i hope you will be able to help me for i have no idea how to go about my applications. Much appreciated
Thank you
Hi Mikal007,
You would find it extremely hard to do a PhD in Health Economics if you don't have a firm basis in it at a Masters level. And for you to do a Masters in HE you need to have strong quantitative skills and have an interest in numbers. Are you good at Math? If you are then it would be an advantage..

Thanx for the reply and the advice. Well Im planning to do HE at masters level not PhD, and yes i love numbers very much (sometimes i wonder why i did not do maths as a degree). The slight problem i may have is that i have not done economics before, did Bsc Pharmacology instead. So you have any advice concerning applying for HE i.e. should i apply for masters in HE or masters in Public health (Health econmics stream)?
Thanx
