Three-dimensional design

B

I am just about to begin an MA in Three-dimensional design in September. Has anyone here done this course, as I would like to know what to expect.

R

Won't it depend on what college you're going to, and what your first degree was in (eg product design, furniture, glass, jewellery, ceramics etc)?

It's at Manchester Met. The brief is as follows:

This course is concerned with relationships between different people and artefacts. The programme seeks to address this and encourage the realisation of artefacts and proposals that are the result of intellectually sound and substantiated strategies and which celebrate and commentate upon culture and context.

You will aim to encourage the exploration of those issues and factors concerned with the mediation between people, contexts and environments and the designed consequences.

You will also seek to reference a broad range of three dimensional design and craft cultures including those related to the design and/or making of domestic products, furniture, ceramics, glass and jewellery.

I’m more interested in hearing from someone who’s done the course, as I can interpret the brief for myself. It’s the kind of things you would only know after doing the course that I am interested in.
