Master of Science in Business Management in UK

N

Ehi there! hello everybody!This is my first post here!

I'm going to apply for an Msc in Management in UK in the next weeks but i've so many questions about it.
First of all, i'm an Italian student of Engineering at Politecnico of Milan.
I'm sure that all of you that are attending engineering already know it, but normally the average mark and consequently the degree of engineers is pretty lower than the average of other students.
For this reason it's impossibile for me to apply for a top level university as LSE/King's college/UCl....
The first question is if you believe that universities consider indistinctly a degree or if they see the subjects and the universities where it comes from.
I mean that probably my degree will be lower than that one of a student of Economy or political science but i'm sure my preparation would be good as well.
Secondly i'd like to know which university you would suggest to me since i will get a normal degree and i will not able to compete into a top class university.
Reading on internet i've chosen those below, but maybe you can give me a better opinion.
1)Cardiff;
2)Southampton;
3)Kent;
4)Royal Holloway;
5)Coventry;
6)Chester;
7)Bournmouth;
8)Est Anglia.
9)Birmingham.

Thank you everyone!!!!

Welcome to the forum Nicco! Do you mind me asking- can it really be true (and accepted!) that ' normally the average mark and consequently the degree of engineers is pretty lower than the average of other students'- and likewise would engineering students really think that themselves? Surely you're as good as the next!

Re. your actual question, I can recommmend Nottingham, and Queen Mary (of London University) for their engineering departments

T

Can you do a MSc in management with an engineering degree?

N

Yes Eds! (At least in Italy ) engineers normally get a lower degree than students from other subjects, because exams are without any doubt harder (In Italy). I wonder if it's the same in other countries and if universities out from Italy consider it when they have to decide to admit a student or not to their programs.
Anyway i'm going to apply for an Msc in Management, not in Engineer. (for treeoflif, yes i can, because I've done 3/4 exams related to business and management).
What are your opinions about the universities i've mentioned before??

All crap, except Queen Mary. :)

N

ahah! :)
I know those universities aren't top levels, but surely i can't apply for a top university. I'll probably get a 3d class degree or, maybe, a 2.2!
So I think it's already hard for me to be admitted to an Msc in those institutions!
My only hope is that i'm attending the Politecnico of Milan, that's a very prestigious university (30 rank in the world), and i'm really praying that they will consider it!

T

Birmingham, Kent, and Southampton are probably the other good ones.

Yes ToL. Think possibly Cardiff could nudge in there too at a stretch!

N

Thank you tree of life!! do you think I've chance to get admitted in those university?
Eds I'm very sorry but I didn't understand what you mean with you answer!

T

You will have to check their admission pages, but most universities want a 2.1 for MSc acceptance.

Eds meant Cardiff is good too.
