hi, what if the research plan which the supervisor has given has been done within a semester? what to do next? do I have to come up with ideas or wait for the PI to give one, for the time being iam asked to do join with my collegue with his work. iam new to the country, field of study etc and iam freaking out in fear of what next..

Talk with your supervisor as he/she will know best. Research plans are not that reliable and are usually either too small or too big. So don't worry that you did it one term. I would make sure that you have done it correctly and write the report for it now before you forget.
