I am sure this question has been asked over, and over again! And, I apologise in advance.

I am currently in my first year of my P.hD in Psychology and, what I was wondering was, if after I've finished it, and (hopefully) get a job in academia; is there anything stopping me from doing a 2nd P.hD in a totally unrelated field (in addition to my B.Sc in Psychology; and M.Sc in Neuroscience, I have a B.Sc in Astronomy) on a part-time basis, whilst working?

No, I don't think there's anything to stop you at all (except for certain people's incredulity). I'd be really interested to hear how you get along as I have also considered doing this. Another option could be to find a postdoc in neuroscience and learn on the job...
