Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to best impress potential PhD supervisors (biology/genetics related) via application or speculative letter? Any help greatly appreciated!
Make sure you tailor each letter to the specific researcher, as they will be able to spot a generic 'send one letter out to everyone' type approach a mile off! Good luck :o)
Easy- read their papers and then relate to their work. Say that you read their paper on XYZ and found the results interesting and that you would be interested in learning the methods they used there.
