Hello I'm new here, but before I ask my question I'd like to thank you all for this amazing forum, you guys have been an amazing source of support in the months leading to my submission and viva as I've been lurking throughout the past year <3 <3

My question might sound silly, but my examiner corrected a couple of my footnotes with "footnote marker is adrift".

Does anyone know what that might possibly mean?

I'm guessing it means it's not on the same place on the page as other footnote markers??

Does it mean: You've said: 'see note XX', but note XX isn't the right source?
