cut off value for correlation

whats the cut-off value for correlation, is it >.6 for highly correlated?

Hey Satchi! It depends whose criteria you use- there are different values in different stats books etc, so it depends! I think there is a general agreement that >.7 is thought to be 'highly' or 'strongly' correlated, but you should check to see what value other people in your subject area use and what it says in your best stats book! The stats bloke at my uni says, when looking for multicollinearity in regression anything >.6 you need to be thinking about it being 'highly correlated', but generally I'd say .7 is high.
