How do you imagine other folk on here?

I'll start off. Satchi is very sweet, fun and girly.

Walminskipeasucker is a comedian. I also imagine him listening to thrash metal. 8-)

Why yes, I do! and usually a hoody and joggers with my chavtastic sense of style.

I imagine jinkim to be on a constant treadmill, jogging away while recording her comments and thoughts about her thesis on a dictaphone. I think she may be one of those annoying people who can 'do it all' and not just say "i can't be arsed" :p

Keep_calm I think is a thoughtful yet chirpy and yes, girly girl!

Jimkin65, I am far from a comedian and, you cheeky sod, do not listen to thrash metal - I'd rather listen to Women's Hour or On My Farm on BBC Radio 4 (actually do sometimes cos you learn a lot from it).

Right, this is how I imagine Teek. Teek is always frenetically busy, she wears a lab coat all the time: when out with her mates, shopping in the Co-op - even when having a bath and fast asleep in bed. She has blonde hair which is always tied back into a functional bun for lab safety and wears flat shoes with velcro straps, as they are more time efficient to put on and take off. She has incredibly big eye balls, a marvellous feet of evolution and the direction that mankind will head in the next few centuries, in order to maximise her field of vision when analysing data and reading books.

Oh wally, you've got me almost crying with laughter! Do you not imagine me with a beard and fluffy earmuffs though? My avatar is, of course, a true depiction of me. I'm afraid you're rather wrong on all fronts; true blonde is pretty much the only hair colour I've not had and I'm utterly impractical - especially regarding shoes. I have regularly been admonished for the skimpy nature of my laboratory footwear (and while we're being honest, general disregard for good lab practice). I must confess, I am strangely fond of my little lab coat though, on the nail there. I'm honoured that you took time to imagine me, and since you're a fellow radio 4 lover I may decide to live up to your predictions (heads off to see if staring hard in the mirror can enlarge her eyeballs).

I imagine Natassia has amazing long blonde hair, wears horse riding clothes all the time, even to supervisory meetings, and is super savvy and cool; I also imagine that she doesn't really fit in that wellwith the stuffy ways of academia, and tsks at the space cadet mad professor like behaviour of her supervisors.

I imagine Wally has long hair too, why I really do not know, maybe it has to do with the heavy metal vibe: it's that super nice self depreciating, fun quality, I think. I think wally has reddy brown hair too. I think he has lots of friends, both men and women, and that he socialises much more than he lets on.

I think sneaks is quite short with shoulder length dark hair, and immaculate make up, and that she sleeps in a dog basket, but manages to wake up pristine.

I think Cobweb looks and acts a lot like Kate Bush.

Eska - you did quite well actually! I have blonde hair but in a shortish pixie style, used to be a creamy platinum but I've toned it down a bit recently as I want to look more sophisticated now I'm a grown up postgrad! The horseriding outfits don't leave the stables, usually I dress quite nicely for uni so I feel more confident with what I'm saying in seminars...I can be a bit prissy sometimes and I seem to be the only one who wears makeup to uni. I also feel unkempt if I haven't got nail varnish on. The academics at my university are generally quite young and not too stuffy so I don't experience that side of academia very often, although I can get a bit narky with their scattiness sometimes I really appreciate that they love their subjects and they live them, if that makes sense. I hope people in the 'real world' think I'm savvy and cool though!

Eska - I imagine you as being very into your vintage clothes and a lover of dramatic accessories, and able to throw things together in a way that just goes really well. I think you could be quite intimidating to your younger students sometimes without intending to be, I imagine you with long, dark wavy hair that you wear down most of the time.


Keenbean I imagine as a brunette who comes across as very capable and ahead of her game, I think she would dress quite casually most of the time but then really smart for conferences etc.

Hi Natassia, not bad! I do like my vintage clothes, I like all clothes, but I do have quite a few vintage things - I've been wearing a black 1980s wrap over dress almost every time I go out for a over a year: I wear it with a short black and diamante statement necklace! I do wear large earing sometimes during the day, and i love getting the chance to wear my giant multi shades of blue chandelier earings. I do wear new too - I crave Jaeger at the moment, I just bought a cape their in the sales - amazng and I reckon it'll last until I am 95, and have bought a Miro style print top from River Island recently too. My sister once told me that she thought the best thing about me was my sense of style, and we got on very well, so I'd guess I can put things together well. I have long dark hair that I wear down most of the time, but it is poker straight - can't get a wave in it... I hope I do intimidate the little bu****s, especially in the first year, it'd do 'em good. I'm nice really though.

It's funny how we get these ideas baout eachother, isn't it.

I think Sneaks is very laid back, but always gets her way, while persuading everybody else that it was all their idea in the first place. A skill I would live to have.
