Hope for those with Belford degrees!

McKenna wins 'fake degree' case

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5223454.stm

"He was determined, indignant, and manifestly proud of his work whatever anybody else may think of it, which he regards as original and as having made a practical contribution to improving the lives of many people.

"Whether it is appropriate to characterise it as scholarship worthy of academic recognition is another matter. No doubt many would think not.

"But one thing which is entirely clear to me is that Mr McKenna to this day does not believe it was bogus or that he misled anyone in allowing himself to be referred to as a PhD."

I like this quote from the judge. Aww bless him. Let him 'think' that it is worthwhile. Even though most others would not agree.

I think my contribution to the world on this forum is worthy of a PhD. So you can all refer to me as 'Dr' from now on. From the University of Richmond. There. I beleive it, so thats it....

C

My parents live near there... (richmond.ac.uk, i mean..)

S

Richmond, I thought you were like me - an alumnus of Instantdegrees.com because we weren't good enough to make it into Belford?

R

Acctually I got a Belford PhD, having taken a loan from DanB. It just took me 1hr 20mins to complete, as opposed to 1hr so I was forced to live in a rubbish dump s my degree was next to worthless. As I said, most of my rubbish dump friends had instantdegree qualifications (read into it what you will...)

But I realised that Belford was getting to much coverage and my degree was looking worthless (as everyone seems to have one). So I decided I would do well to get a new PhD from a new, more obscure institution.

University of Richmond is only through email im afraid. Send all your details, including bank account numbers, to Richmond@yahoo.co.uk. I need the bank account so I can take a small paperwork fee in processing your application.... (Im joking, just in case!!)

S

Sounds very exclusive. How long will it take me to complete the order form (sorry, I meant the PhD)?

Dear Dodgi Flangita

Thank you very much for kind of offer. I think $2 million would greatly enhance my educational opportunities. In fact I am having the most amazing day. Apparently, I have just won the Eurofake Lottery and just need to send a small fee of $500 to an address in Amsterdam as an admin fee so I can claim my $100 million prize. So you see your offer is very timely.

In fact, I'm feeling so lucky today I'm thinking of having a go on ITV's late night quiz show although admittedly a might be pushing my luck of winning anything on there.

R

It is very exclusive. It will take you at least 20mins to fill out the form (we need ALL your details). It is very important you fill out all the parts correctly.

You will find that after getting your PhD, you will be very successful. In fact, credit card companies will think you are so rich (just due to the qualification) that they will send you huge bills to pay, mistakenly of course.

For anyone who wants to stand out from the crowd and get a special degree I am offering fast-track D.Phil doctorates at a special price of £134.99(+vat, shipping and administration fee) with a free phrase book of classic PhD student quotes to stop you looking like a phoney during those tricky situations when you are conversing with real PhD students.

Just log on to www.Trikysuniveristyoflife.org.ac.uk.edu where experience counts!

All we need is

*Name
*Address
*Credit (or debit) card
*Title of your degree

And then we will do the rest!!

Richmond university is currently running a buy one get one free on PhD's. These will be termed BOGOF PhD's, to make your CV the envy of everyone.

C

That's all really funny lol

T

I wonder if 'students' who buy a PhD from Belford et al. have a similar site to this where they make digs at people doing proper PhDs?

Something like along the lines of 'I can't believe they choose to spend 4 years of their life researching when I only spent half an hour filling out the online form to get mine!'

T

or 'What does PhD mean anyway?'
