how can i ...

G

...make myself like my supervisor? Everything he does annoys me, I'm constantly angry and I don't want to be! What should I tell myself when something annoys me?

G

Tell yourself that if you behave yourself and work well, you can have a beer when you get home!!

G

Tell yourself it's only a job and that there are more important things in life.

Supervisors are annoying because they make work their life, then become as irrating as hell.

G

Well, when you eventually become a Nobel laureate, there's NO WAY you're going to mention him in your speech. ;)

G

How about annoying him so much that he avoids you?

G

Meditation.

Freddy - there is a mismatch, but I'm afraid I'm the workaholic. I would LOVE my supervisor to be pushing me rather than being completely disinterested. I think there should be a sort of pairing up process before choosing a supervisor - maybe a little questionnaire: "how many coffee breaks do you typically take a day?" "are you here to work or socialise?" etc. Stu, not sure annoying him is such a good idea-can be quite scary. I just remembered that eating nuts is supposed to calm you down, off to buy some. Cashews I think...mmm...

oh, according to a quick web search, brazil nuts are best (source of selenium) "Just three or four Brazil nuts a day may help stabilise mood"!!! (Dr John Briffa on Guardian website)

G

Never knew that. *adds brazil nuts to his shopping list*.
