Hi friends. I had completed my Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Now pursuing my Master's in Mechatronics Engineering. My course will get completed by April of 2013. I would like to do PhD in Automotive Electronics or Electronics Engine Management or Automobile Communications. But I don't know from where I have to start. I need some suggestion regarding procedures for applying PhD and universities. I prefer Canada or Germany because of good education and research standards there. Living cost is also a major factor. I read this forum and I found lots of people helping others from their experience. Hope the same for me. Thank you all.

In Germany you often have the model part-time PhD + part-time research assistant. Scholarships are not very common and so it takes a few more years to complete. Maybe you contact staff and professors who are working in relevant fields?

I heard the University of Hanover is not too bad (Leibniz Universitaet). I don't think you find any Oxbridge equivalents there.

Thanks for your valuable time. I am not looking for part-time PhD. I am looking for a full time course. I choose Germany because of my field of interest, Automobile. And Germany is the leading technological leader in the field of automobile. So please suggest me university in that field.
