For a ra position in the humanities please? I hate wearing 'smart' clothes, but I realise I will have to (I'm a girl)

I don't think you need to wear a suit - I've never worn one because I hate them - but you do need to look as if you've made an effort. I'd go for smallish skirt or trousers, shirt and /or a fine wool sweater or cardigan
