I am having an offer of a university for a PhD and expecting to have another 2-3 which are ranked lower than it. The tuition for me as overseas student is around £15,000 per year for 3 years. Another universities that i might be accepted have tuition of around £12,000 - 13,000 with one off international scholarship of around £1,500 - £2,000.

I think i am going to wait for the cheaper one, but it may be that the quality will also be cheaper too. However i think quality will also be similar because this will be independent research. What do you think? The universities include Salford, Swansea, Essex, Chester, Queen's Belfast.

I'd say within those unis you mentioned it probably doesn't make a lot of difference. Think about other things as well - publications from the research group, cost of living in the city etc.
